Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has reacted to the ongoing controversy over a BBC documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying "truth always comes out".

While addressing the media during the Bharat Jodo Yatra In Jammu and Kashmir, he said, "The truth always comes out. No amount of banning the press and using institutions like ED and CBI against people can suppress the truth from coming out," quoted ANI.

The statement comes amid the raging debate on the documentary by UK media company BBC, made on the role of PM Modi from the time when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat during the 2002 riots.

He clearly spelt out the principles and policies on the party lines and stand of the Congress party on various issues.

#Earthquake with 5.8-magnitude hits Nepal; tremors felt in Delhi-NCR

An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 struck Nepal on Tuesday afternoon at 14:28:31 IST, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre said, sending tremors across New Delhi and the the national capital region as well.

Tremors were felt in parts of Rajasthan's capital city of Jaipur as well. There was no immediate report of loss of life or property from there.

The quake struck at 2:28 pm with the epicentre in Nepal at a place 148 km east of Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand, the National Centre for Seismology said.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognisance of the building collapse in the state capital. He immediately directed the officials to ensure that the injured are rushed to the hospital and receive proper treatment. He also asked several hospitals to stay on alert.

Eleven people have been rescued from the debris of a multi-story building which collapsed in Lucknow's Wazir Hassan area on Tuesday, this after an earthquake which hit Nepal and impacted parts of northern India and Lucknow, might have caused the collapse.

JNU cancels screening of BBC documentary on PM Narendra Modi, says it ‘MAY DISTURB PEACE’

Amid a row over the controversial BBC documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and 2022 Gujarat riots, the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has warned students its screening, saying that such “unauthorized activity” may “disturb peace and harmony” of the university campus. The university administration also warned strict action will be taken against the students who defy the order and screen the controversial documentary, which has been already banned by Centre.

The warning from the prestigious university came after a group of students released a pamphlet for the screening of the documentary on Tuesday. According to an advisory issued by the JNU administration, students representing the name of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students` Union have not sought permission for the screening of "India: The Modi Question", the BBC documentary, from the administration.
