#EconomicSurvey2022-23: Expected To Project Lower GDP Growth For 2023-24, Below Last Year’s Forecast Of 8-8.5%

Tabled every year by the Finance Minister as a part of the Parliament's Budget session, the Economic Survey 2022-23 is likely to project a lower GDP growth for 2023-24. The Economic Survey is a flagship annual document that presents an overview of the country's economic performance and presents a vision for the future.

FM Nirmala Sitharaman is set to present the document on Tuesday, January 31, the first day of the Budget session of the Parliament at 11 am.

For the next financial year i. e. from April 2023-March 2024, the annual pre-budget Economic Survey is likely to peg GDP growth at 6-6.8 per cent. The survey is likely to say that growth is seen at 6.5 per cent for 2023-24 under the baseline scenario, according to a source quoted by Reuters.

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova made these remarks when asked about the BBC's controversial documentary. "Our Indian friends have already made a comment on this situation. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that it is yet another evidence of the BBC waging an information war on different fronts - not only against Russia but also against other global centers of power pursuing an independent policy," Zakharova told reporters.

#Political: IUML Tells SC 'Don’t De-Register Us For Muslim In Name, Crescent And Star In Flag', 'We Are Secular'

The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) on Monday submitted before the Supreme Court that the organisation should not be de-registered just because it has “Muslim” in its party name and uses certain religious symbols in its flag.

IUML also claimed that it was an “inherently” secular party and added that it now has more than 100 elected members in the local bodies that belong to Hindu and Christian community in the state of Kerala.

The party filed a counter affidavit against a plea seeking ban on political parties which use names and symbols with religious connotations. In its affidavit, IUML said that the erstwhile minister of Education in the Kerala government ET Mohammad Basheer was responsible for establishment of the University of Sanskrit in the state.

This will be PM Modi's second visit to Mumbai within a month. On January 19, Modi was in the state capital to lay foundation stones for a slew of projects and also inaugurated the new Mumbai Metro Lines 2A and 7.

As per the February 10 PM visit schedule, he will arrive in Mumbai and may travel to the CSMT station and may flag off the Vande Bharat Express trains for Shirdi and Solapur from platform number 18.
