Tabled every year by the Finance Minister as a part of the Parliament's Budget session, the Economic Survey 2022-23 is likely to project a lower GDP growth for 2023-24. The Economic Survey is a flagship annual document that presents an overview of the country's economic performance and presents a vision for the future.
FM Nirmala Sitharaman is set to present the document on Tuesday, January 31, the first day of the Budget session of the Parliament at 11 am.
For the next financial year i. e. from April 2023-March 2024, the annual pre-budget Economic Survey is likely to peg GDP growth at 6-6.8 per cent. The survey is likely to say that growth is seen at 6.5 per cent for 2023-24 under the baseline scenario, according to a source quoted by Reuters.
