#UK PM Sunak Vows To Keep Country Safe Amid Chinese Spy Balloon Fears, 'Whatever It Takes'

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Monday vowed to do "whatever it takes" to keep his country safe, amid mounting fears that suspected Chinese spy balloons could also target the UK, a day after the US military shot down a fourth flying object over the American airspace.

During a hospital visit in northern England, Sunak said the UK was in constant contact with its allies across the Atlantic and remained in readiness for any safety response.

Sunak's response comes as his defence minister Ben Wallace confirmed the UK is launching a review into the security implications of the recent incursions into western airspace.

Two days after Turkey cancelled Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to the earthquake-hit country, saying they were “busy in the earthquake rescue and relief operations”, it gave the go-ahead to Qatar’s Emir to visit along with a high-level delegation.

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, arrived in Turkey on Sunday and met President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

On Friday, the Emir had donated 50 million Qatari riyals for the earthquake-affected people in Turkey and Syria. Qatar also provided initial aid represented by an air bridge equipped with relief and health materials and a rescue team. To add to this, they also provided 10,000 mobile homes and tonnes of its aid arrived at the Turkish airport in Adana.

The USGS said that the earthquake struck country’s southern city of Kahramanmaras, which was the epicentre of the first 7.8-magnitude tremor last Monday.

#Aero India 2023: PM Modi to Inaugurate Asia's Biggest Air Show in Bengaluru Today

The 14th edition of Asia’s largest aero show –Aero India 2023– will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bengaluru on Monday. The five-day aerospace exhibition, at the Yalahanka Air Force station complex on the outskirts of Bengaluru, will showcase the country as an emerging hub for manufacturing of military aircraft, helicopters, equipment and new-age avionics, according to an official statement.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the theme of Aero India 2023 is “The Runway to a Billion Opportunities”.

The focus of the exhibition this time will be on putting on display indigenous equipment/technologies and forging partnerships with foreign companies, in line with the ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ vision, according to an official statement.
