#Uttar Pradesh to Soon Become Only States in India to Have 5 International Airports

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced that the state will soon have over 20 operationalised airports including five international airports. With these many airports, Uttar Pradesh The Finance Minister of the State - Suresh Khanna, in his speech, said, "During the tenure of the Yogi government, unprecedented work has been done in the field of civil aviation. Presently nine airports are functional in the state and air service is available for 80 destinations." He further said that three international airports are functional in the state and international airports are under construction at Jewar and Ayodhya. "International airports are under construction in Jewar and Ayodhya and soon five international airports will become functional in the state. State Government has decided to increase the number of runways in Jewar Airport from two to five," Khanna said.

#Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde Announced As Chief of Shiv Sena

Eknath Shinde was today named the Shiv Sena chief at a key meeting of his party, days after the Election Commission recognised the Shinde faction as the real Shiv Sena in its dispute with the Uddhav Thackeray faction, and allotted it the party's poll symbol 'bow and arrow'.

Hours before the national executive meeting of the Shiv Sena, the party asked the media to call it "Shiv Sena" and not "Shinde camp".

The meeting was attended by MLAs, MPs and other Shiv Sena leaders who have been working with Shinde since he broke away from the party led by Uddhav Thackeray.

#Meghalaya CM Conrad K Sangma Distances Himself After PM Modi Denied Permission to Hold Election Rally

Meghalaya Chief Minister and National People's Party (NPP) supremo Conrad K Sangma asserted that neither he nor his party had any role in denying permission for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's election rally at the PA Sangma Sports Complex in Tura. The Sports department has informed the West Garo Hills district authorities that permission cannot be given for the PM's rally there as construction debris may pose safety concerns. The saffron party, which last month snapped ties with ally NPP ahead of the February 27 assembly election, alleged that the ruling party was trying to stall a "wave of the BJP" in the state.

#Tremors: Citizens Terrified After Fresh Earthquake Hits Turkey, Syria: 'Thought Earth Will Split Open'

A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck Turkey and Syria on Monday (February 20, 2023) killing at least three people, and injuring more than 200. The earthquake was centered in the town of Defne, in Turkey's Hatay province, one the worst-hit regions in the magnitude 7.8 quake that hit on February 6. It struck at a depth of 10 km and was also felt in Jordan, Cyprus, Israel, and as far away as Egypt.

"I thought the earth was going to split open under my feet," a resident of the Turkish city of Antakya said.

#Adani Row: Supreme Court Refuses To Take Forbes Report On Record

The Supreme Court on Monday refused to take on record the suggestion of one of the petitioners and a report published by Forbes in a batch of PILs on the recent Adani Group shares crash triggered by the Hindenburg Research’s fraud allegations.

A bench comprising Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and Justices P S Narasimha and J B Pardiwala denied the request by the lawyer appearing for one of the petitioners. “No no we will not take it on record”, the bench said.
