#Army, IAF Execute 'Vayu Prahar' Along Line of Actual Control

The Indian Army and Indian Air Force have jointly conducted intra-theatre air mobility operations named 'Vayu Prahar' along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Eastern Theatre to validate joint plans to prosecute synergised multiple domain operations.
The joint exercise held last week aimed at orchestrating military activities across all domains, including land, water, air and information, to deliver converging effects. 

During the exercise, the forces tested their rapid mobilisation capability of an earmarked Rapid Reaction Force from the hinterland to undertake air-landing operations in a nominated Advance Landing Ground (ALG).

#Punjab: Amid Police Crackdown, Amritpal Stopped at Jalandhar Gurdwara for 45 Min, Changed Clothes, Ate Langar: Report

As he was being chased by the police, radical preacher and Waris Punjab De leader Amritpal Singh spent nearly an hour at a gurdwara in Jalandhar, changed clothes and ate langar with four of his aides.

Ranjit Singh, the priest of the Nangal Ambian gurdwara, said that at the time when Amritpal came with four other men, he did not know that they were wanted and being chased by the police.

Amritpal and four other men reached the gurdwara at 1 pm on Saturday, and left at 1:45 PM after they ate food, offered their prayers, and Singh changed his clothes.

#Defence: Why Delay Fighter Jets For IAF, Says The Parliamentary Committee on Defence

Observing the incessant delays over the procurement of fighter jets, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence has said that the government should not delay the procurement of additional fighter jets.

The procurement of additional fighter jets should not be delayed any further said the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence in its report tabled in the House today.

“The government should consider buying state-of-the-art fifth-generation fighter aircraft over the counter without losing time to keep the force in a comfortable position,” the committee said.

#India Gears Up For 6G: PM Modi Unveils Vision Document, Launches Next-Gen Test Bed

After taking a lead on the 5G front in terms of faster rollout of the network across the country, India is gearing up for sixth generation (6G) telecom network. In this regard, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday released 'Bharat 6G Vision Document' and launched 6G Test Bed. The 6G vision document will become a major basis for the 6G rollout in the next few years.

The PM also inaugurated the new International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Area office & Innovation Centre in India at a programme in Vigyan Bhawan on Wednesday. ITU is the United Nations' specialized agency for information and communication technologies (ICTs). The new ITU India office will be serving countries such as Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Iran and Afghanistan. For the unaware, ITU is the United Nations agency for information and communication technologies (ICTs).

#Pro-Khalistan Protests: Punjab Police Issues Lookout Circular, Non-Bailable Warrant Against Amritpal Singh

The Punjab Police have issued a lookout circular (LOC) and non-bailable warrant (NBW) against `Waris Punjab De` chief Amritpal Singh, the fugitive pro-Khalistani sympathiser, who is behind recent violent protests in the state. Addressing a press conference, Inspector General of Police (Headquarters), Punjab Sukhchain Singh Gill said that Amritpal Singh, a Khalistani sympathiser, has not been arrested yet.

"We are making all efforts to arrest him. We`re hopeful that we`ll arrest him soon...It is difficult to say that. Punjab Police is receiving full cooperation from other states and central agencies," the IGP said. "A lookout circular (LOC) and non-bailable warrant (NBW) have been issued against Amritpal Singh, who remains a fugitive and efforts are being made to arrest him," said the Information and Public Relations Department of the Punjab government.
