#LokSabha: After Disqualification, Rahul Gandhi Gets Notice To Vacate Official Bungalow

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who was disqualified from Lok Sabha following his conviction in a criminal defamation case, has now been asked to vacate the government-allotted bungalow by April 22.

According to official sources, the Lok Sabha Housing Committee has served a notice to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi asking him to vacate the 12, Tughlaq Lane bungalow.

The former Congress president was disqualified as a Lok Sabha member after his conviction by a Surat court on March 23 in a criminal defamation case over his "Modi surname" remark.

The court had sentenced him to two years in jail for the remarks made at an election rally in 2019.

#Amritpal Singh Hiding In Nepal, Foreign Ministry In Action: Report

India has requested the Nepal government not to allow fugitive radical preacher Amritpal Singh, who is believed to be hiding in Nepal, to flee to a third country and arrest him if he attempts to escape using Indian passport or any other fake passport, a media report said on Monday.

In a letter sent to the Department of Consular Services on Saturday, the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu has requested the government agencies to arrest Singh if he tries to flee from Nepal, the Kathmandu Post newspaper reported.

"Singh is currently hiding in Nepal," the paper said, citing a copy of the letter obtained by it.

#ISRO Successfully Launches India's Largest LVM3 Rocket With 36 Satellites

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Sunday successfully launched India’s largest LVM3 rocket with 36 satellites onboard from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. ISRO's heaviest rocket LVM3 belonging to UK-based OneWeb Group was launched at around 9 am.

"LVM3 standing 43.5 metres tall and weighing 643 tonnes lifted off from the second launch pad rocket port carrying OneWeb's final installment of 36 Gen1 satellites," officials said, as per news agency ANI.

#Congress Responds To Jaishankar's 'Inside People Taking Politics Outside' Remark

The Congress on Sunday hit back at External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for saying people from inside the country are taking politics outside, in what appeared to be a reference to Rahul Gandhi's remarks on Indian democracy in the UK, and said it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who took domestic politics aborad "viciously starting 2015". 

"The man who broke the long tradition of not taking domestic politics abroad, made him [Jaishankar] the minister," Jairam Ramesh said, without naming the prime minister. 

"And he [PM Modi] took it abroad viciously starting 2015. Obviously the EAM doesn't want to acknowledge that," he added.

#Adani-Hindenburg Crisis: 'Government Hasn't Intervened In This Matter,' Says Sanjeev Sanyal

The Indian government has not engaged itself in the Adani Group's dispute with a US short seller Hindenburg Research, which has triggered a massive rout in the company's shares, said Sanjeev Sanyal, Member of the Economic Advisory Council to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“The government has not intervened anywhere. Nobody’s having to rescue anyone in our system,” Bloomberg quoted Sanyal as saying.
