#Assam Police On Alert After Himanta Sarma Receives Threat From Pro-Khalistan Outfit

Assam Police has been put on high alert after a pro-Khalistan leader allegedly threatened Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. In the purported audio clip, Sikh for Justice founder Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, a designated individual terrorist, was heard claiming that Sikhs were being "tortured" in Assam jail and asked Sarma to desist from it.

"This message is for Assam CM Himanta Sarma. Your government is harassing and torturing pro-Khalistan Sikhs in Assam. And also torturing those who are in jail. Listen carefully CM Sarma, the fight is between pro-Khalistan Sikhs and the Indian regime. Sarma, you do not pray fall to this violence. We are seeking the liberation of Punjab from Indian occupation through a peaceful democratic process of Khalistan referendum. Sarma, if your government is going to torture and harass Sikhs, you will be held accountable," news agency ANI quoted the pro-Khalistani leader as saying in the purported audio clip.

#Delhi: Kejriwal Losing Sanity Or Deliberately Creating Ground As Agencies Probe Delhi Govt Corruption: BJP

The BJP on Saturday hit back at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and said his remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the judiciary indicate that he is either on the verge losing sanity or trying to create a ground for future in view of the probe agencies gradually unearthing corruption under his government "with proof".

Replying to a question on whether Kejriwal is fearing his arrest also, BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi told reporters, "There may be many possibilities because of the way things are coming out gradually during the investigation."

"If someone does something he knows what he did," he said, without taking the name of Kejriwal.

#Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Fined Rs 25k As Gujarat HC Junks CIC's PM Modi Degree Order

Gujarat HC Friday quashed a seven-year-old order of the CIC directing Gujarat University to provide information sought by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on PM Modi's postgraduate degree under the RTI Act.

The court also fined Kejriwal Rs 25,000 for "making a mockery of the very intent and purpose of the RTI Act". He is required to deposit the penalty with the Gujarat State Legal Services Authority within four weeks.

#Ram Navami: Sec 144 Imposed, Internet Suspended in Violence-hit Howrah; Clashes in Bihar

Violent incidents were reported in West Bengal’s Howrah for the second consecutive day after clashes on Ram Navami. Clashes also erupted in Sasaram and Nalanda of Bihar.

Violence broke out between two groups when a procession was taken out on Thursday evening in Howrah. Several vehicles were torched and shops were ransacked. A day after violent clashes, another incident of stone-pelting occurred today in Howrah’s Kazipara area.

Meanwhile, internet services have been suspended in some areas within the jurisdiction of Howrah Town, Asansol-Durgapur Police Commissionerate and Barrackpore Police Commissionerate till 2 am Saturday in the wake of violence.

#Punjab: Amritpal Should Flee To Pakistan, Just Like In 1984: Lok Sabha MP Simranjit Singh

Lok Sabha MP and Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) chief Simranjit Singh Mann said fugitive Khalistani separatist Amritpal Singh should not surrender and instead flee to Pakistan. "He shouldn't surrender, he should cross the Ravi river and go to Pakistan," said Simranjit. 

"We went to Pakistan in 1984 too, haven't we?" added Simranjit. He said Amritpal Singh fleeing to Pakistan is "justified by Sikh history" because his life is in danger and the government is "oppressing us".
