Saamana, the mouthpiece of Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT), has targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah over 40,000 women who have gone missing from Gujarat. The editorial questioned the BJP leaders about the missing women figures revealed in National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data.

"It is very serious that women are trapped in human trafficking but still Modi Bhakts chant the glory of the successful Gujarat Model," the editorial stated. 

According to National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data, Gujarat has reported over 40,000 missing women over a span of five years.

#Kerala Govt Orders Judicial Probe Into Tourist Boat Tragedy

A day after the tragic tourist boat accident that claimed the lives of 22 people including women and children, the Kerala government on Monday announced a judicial probe into the matter and decided to give a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the kin of the deceased.

The boat capsized near an estuary close to the Thoovaltheeram beach in Tanur area around 7.30 pm on Sunday.

According to district officials, 15 of the deceased are minors aged eight months to 17 years. There were 37 persons onboard the ill-fated boat, Revenue Minister K Rajan said.

#Congress To Move Court For Judicial Probe Into AI Camera, KFON Projects

KPCC president K Sudhakaran said that the Congress would  approach the court demanding a judicial inquiry into the alleged corruptions in the installation of artificial intelligence (AI) cameras in the state under the Safe Kerala project and the KFON project which has offered to provide free internet to 20 lakh  poor families in the state.

Sudhakaran said here on Sunday that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan , CPI-M leaders and ministers in the state Cabinet are trying to block the hole with darkness as regard to the corruption in the projects without giving answers to the charges despite evidence has come out  that the contract was awarded in violation of the norms.

Amir Khan Muttaqi, Afghanistan’s acting foreign minister, who is under a travel ban by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), was granted an exemption to travel to Islamabad, where he met with his Chinese counterpart, Qin Gang.

Tipra Motha chief Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma Sunday said A K Mishra, the interlocutor for talks between Tripura tribals and the Centre, was supposed to be in the state but he had to rush to Manipur on account of the recent violence there. Notably, Mishra is also the interlocutor for the Naga peace talks.

The Motha chief also said he is scheduled to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on May 10 to discuss issues related to the “Constitutional rights of tribals” in Tripura.
