#Delhi Govt Moves SC Against NGT Order Naming L-G As Chief Of Yamuna Committee

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government on Wednesday moved Supreme Court challenging the National Green Tribunal (NGT) order naming the city's Lieutenant Governor as chairperson of a high-level Committee (HLC) on Yamuna.

The Delhi government pleaded before the SC to quash the NGT order and ensure the mandate of the duly elected government of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi is respected.

Opposing the Hindu side's plea seeking ASI survey of premises of Gyanvapi Mosque, the Mosque committee submitted an application to the Varanasi court saying that neither Mughal emperor Aurangzeb was cruel, nor did he demolish any Lord Adi Vishweshwar Temple in Varanasi.

In its application, the Muslim side denied the contention of the Hindu side that the Lord Adi Vishweshwar Temple temple was attacked and destroyed by a Muslim invader and Raja Tondal Mal restored the temple at the same place in 1580 AD, Live Law reported.

#Parliament Building: "When Narasimha Rao Was PM...": Ghulam Nabi Azad On Parliament Building Inauguration

Asserting that the construction of a new Parliament building was necessary, Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday said that it is good that it has been constructed but the idea was mooted when PV Narasimha Rao was the Prime Minister.

He further refrained from commenting on the issue of which political party would be attending or boycotting the inauguration event of the new Parliament building. “This is a technical issue. Parliamentarians who want to boycott this event or want to attend it is up to them. It is their point of view on how they want to perceive this event. Those parliamentarians will have to explain the reasons why they are boycotting the event. I don’t want to comment on who will be attending or boycotting the inauguration event,” Azad, Democratic Progressive Azad Party chief, told to ANI.

Bajwa urged the Congress high-command to take this aspect into consideration before taking a decision on extending support to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after the BJP-led Centre promulgated an ordinance on the Delhi services issue.
