#CBI Books Rolls Royce Director Tim Jones, Other Private Individuals In Procurement Of Hawk Aircraft Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered an FIR against British Aerospace company Rolls Royce India Pvt Ltd, Tim Jones, Director Rolls Royce India Pvt Ltd and private individuals Sudhir Chuadhrie and Bhanu Chaudharie and other unknown public servants and private persons.

They were booked with the objective to cheat the Government of India in the matter of procurement of Hawk Aircraft from Rolls Royce plc, UK and its associate group companies, including M/s Rolls Royce Turbomeca Limited, said CBI in a statement.

#Congress Asks PM To Apologise To Nation For 'Betrayal' Of People As He Completes 9 Yrs In Govt

With Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing nine years in office, the Congress on Friday demanded his apology for what it said was "betrayal" of the people and asked him nine questions on issues ranging from rising prices and unemployment to national security and social harmony.

The Opposition party also said the government should mark this day as 'Maafi Diwas' and released a booklet 'Nau saal, Nau sawaal'. It said Modi became the prime minister on this day nine years ago and therefore, the party wants to ask nine questions of him.

#Mumbai: Ministry Approves Extensive Soft Upgradation Plan For Mumbai Division Railway Stations

In a significant development, the Ministry of Railways has granted approval for an extensive soft upgradation plan aimed at transforming 15 railway stations within the Mumbai Division of Central Railways. This ambitious initiative, part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS), seeks to enhance the functionality and aesthetics of these stations by the end of the ongoing financial year.

The approved project includes Chinchpokli, Byculla, Parel, Matunga, Kurla, Vidyavihar, Vikhroli, Kanjurmarg, Mumbra, Diva, Shahad, Titwala, Igatpuri, Wadala Road, and Sandhurst Road stations. With an estimated budget of around Rs 500 crore, the endeavor aims to bring about a significant transformation in these selected stations within the Mumbai Division.

#Monsoon: Slow Start Likely, But Overall Monsoon Set To Be ‘Normal’: IMD

The monsoon this year may have a sluggish start with the country receiving “below normal” rainfall in June. However, the entire four-month (June-September) period is likely to collectively get “normal” rainfall, according to the latest forecasts of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) released on Friday. There is a 55% probability of “normal to above normal” rainfall during the season in India.

Though the country as a whole may receive lower end of the “normal” rainfall, northwest India, including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and western Uttar Pradesh — the grain bowl of the country — will see “below normal” rainfall due to the impact of the El Niño conditions (unusual warming of surface waters in eastern Pacific Ocean) that is generally linked to weak monsoon rains. The latest forecast from different global models indicates high probabilities for the development of El Niño conditions during the upcoming monsoon season

Arvind Kejriwal announced his decision to approach Kharge and Rahul Gandhi after meeting Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar at the Yashwantrao Chavan Centre in Mumbai on Thursday. He was accompanied by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
