#Sharad Pawar Expels Ajit Pawar, Other Rebels; His Nephew Says They are Real NCP

A day after Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) suffered a split, party supremo Sharad Pawar on Monday removed MPs Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare from the party for "anti-party" activities. The development came hours after Patel, Tatkare and Ajit Pawar hold a joint press conference and made structural changes in the NCP.

Earlier in the day, the NCP also disqualified Ajit Pawar and eight revel MLAs. On Sunday, Ajit Pawar, who was the Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, took oath as Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister. Eight other NCP MLAs also joined the Maharashtra government. After Ajit Pawar joined the state government, the NCP supremo said he was not upset with anybody but slammed Patel and Sunil Tatkare for "abandoning" the guidelines of the party president.

#Central Armed Police Forces Get New Uniforms to Deter 'Copycats'

The Central Armed Police Forces will be changing their uniforms soon, making them easily distinguishable from similar attire worn by private parties.

The digital patterns have been approved, and the forces will be changing their main uniforms in a phased manner, said sources. In the next few months, other specialised units will also change their uniforms with digital printing making them tough to copy.

Last year, the Indian Army also introduced digital print uniforms and wants to have them copyrighted also. The Army changed to the combat uniform created by NIFT.

#Judiciary: SC Tells Lawyers: Don't Come To Us With Just Any Case

CJI D Y Chandrachud and his colleague judges in the Supreme Court appeared to be sending out a loud message to lawyers and litigants on the first day of business after summer vacation - do not rush to the SC for anything and everything, especially disputes involving very small amounts.

One of the first cases to be dismissed by a bench led by the CJI was for the reason that it involved a dispute over an amount of a few lakh. And the judges appeared to apply this rule uniformly irrespective of whether a junior or a senior advocate, renowned or not, appeared for the litigant.

#BJP-Apna Dal(S) Alliance Has Rid UP of 'Divisive' SP, BSP: Home Minister Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said Uttar Pradesh got completely rid of the "divisive forces" of SP and BSP after the BJP and the Apna Dal (Sonelal) joined hands, as he made a strong pitch for consolidation of backward caste voters in the state ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The senior BJP leader made these remarks while addressing a function here to mark the birth anniversary of late Kurmi (backward caste) leader Sonelal Patel, the father of Union minister Anupriya Patel.

Shah highlighted the success of the BJP and Apna Dal (Sonelal) alliance, noting that it has won four elections in the state since 2014, and targeted the Congress, BSP and SP.

#France: 700 Arrested In Fifth Night Of French Riots; Mayor's Home Attacked

Young rioters clashed with police into early Sunday and targeted a mayor's home with a burning car as France saw a fifth night of unrest sparked by the police killing of a teenager, but overall violence appeared to lessen compared with previous nights.

The Interior Ministry said early Sunday that 719 people were arrested, 45 police and other gendarmes were injured, 577 vehicles and 74 buildings were set on fire and 871 fires were recorded on public roads.
