Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar arrives at NCP chief Sharad Pawar's residence Silver Oak in Mumbai, news agency ANI reported.
Earlier, Maharashtra Minister Chhagan Bhujbal expressed his concerns for NCP Chief Sharad Pawar's wife Pratibha Pawar as she was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. "I pray for her speedy recovery and would urge party's activists to wish for her well-being," said Bhujbal, as quoted by ANI.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be given one of France’s most spectacular recognitions on Friday as guest of honour at the Bastille Day military parade. Modi and Macron will watch French and Indian soldiers march down the tree-lined Champs-Elysee avenue in Paris, while Indian Rafale fighter jets will take part in the fly-past over the Arc de Triomphe. The Bastille Day celebrations will be followed by bilateral talks.

PM Modi was accorded a red-carpet welcome as he arrived in Paris on a two-day visit on Thursday. He will join Macron for the French National Day celebrations on Friday as the Guest of Honour.
The Revenue Department will soon file an appeal in the Supreme Court against the Karnataka High Court ruling in May that had quashed a Rs 21,000-crore Goods and Services Tax (GST) demand against online gaming company Gameskraft. “We have lost the case in the Karnataka High Court. We plan to file a SLP (special leave petition) in the Court and hope to win. In the meanwhile, along with it, the Goods and Services Tax Council has also decided to make an amendment which is clarificatory in nature to amply make it clear that wagering on online games is also taxable at a higher rate,” said Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra.
Supreme Court Collegium has recommended transfer of three High Court judges to different High Courts, news agency ANI reported. Justice Gaurang Kanth of Delhi High Court has been recommended for transfer to Calcutta High Court by the Collegium through its resolution passed on July 12. Collegium recommended the transfer of Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh from Allahabad High Court to the High Court of Kerala. Justice Manoj Bajaj of Punjab & Haryana High Court has been recommended to the High Court of Allahabad.
Bengal’s violence-marred rural vote gave Trinamool Congress a massive, morale-boosting mandate on Wednesday, going into next year’s big Lok Sabha battle — all 20 zilla parishads, 317 of the 341 panchayat samitis, and 2,644 of the 3,317 gram panchayats at stake.
Second-placed BJP’s tally of six panchayat samitis and 220 gram panchayats accentuated TMC’s dominance in the three-tier elections, which appeared a foregone conclusion as results and trends emerged on the first day of counting.
The once-mighty Left finished with a piffling two panchayat samitis and 38 gram panchayats, while Congress drew a blank in the second tier of the rural structure and won four in the third.
