#Delhi Cabinet Minister Atishi Allocated Vigilance, Services Portfolios: Notification

Delhi Cabinet minister Atishi has been allocated Vigilance and Services departments following the competent authority's approval, according to an official notification issued on Monday.

With this, the number of portfolios held by Atishi has risen to 14.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had on August 8 made the recommendation to allocate the two departments, which were earlier handled by Cabinet minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, to Atishi.

#Congress Leadership In 1947 ‘Fall In Line So Easily’ With Idea Of Partition, Asks Hardeep Puri

Lashing out at the Congress on the subject of the Partition of India, Union minister and BJP leader Hardeep Singh Puri Monday asked why the party leadership had “so easily” fallen in line with the proposal to divide the country.

“The British ruled India following broadly a policy of divide-and-rule, and I understand their motivation. But the question arises as to why the Congress leadership at the time fell in line so easily,” Puri said at an exhibition organised in New Delhi by the Ministry of Culture to highlight the struggles of those displaced by the Partition.

The Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government has since 2021 been commemorating 14 August as ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’ through events that include exhibitions and a silent march.

Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to lead an all-party delegation to Manipur and hold a "peace rally" there to bring an end to the ethnic violence in the northeastern state.

Prime Minister Modi must tell the people of Manipur that they need not fear and the entire nation stands with them for the restoration of peace in the state, Chowdhury said.

Modi should lead an all-party delegation to hold a peace rally in the state torn by ethnic violence and "we will join", he said in the 'Aap Ki Adalat' show on India TV.
