The Supreme Court on Tuesday resumed the Day 8 hearing on the abrogation of Article 370 in the context of Jammu and Kashmir, saying that now we need answers from the Centre. The top court also gave a shock to Lakshadweep MP Mohammed Faizal by setting aside the Kerala High Court order that had suspended his conviction and sentencing in an attempt-to-murder case. #ISRO in No Mood to Take Rest After Chandrayaan-3 Mission: 'Hands Are Full...'

With Chandrayaan-3 set to a historic landing on moon, India’s space agency ISRO is not in the mood to rest as it has a packed schedule ahead from a mission to study the Sun to launching a climate observation satellite, a test vehicle as part of Gaganyaan human space flight programme.

Chandrayaan-3 is all set for a successful landing on the south polar region of the Moon on August 23 (Wednesday) at 6:04 pm after completing its 40-day journey. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Tuesday said in an update that the Chandrayaan-3 mission is on schedule.

#Vice President Dhankhar Says Parliamentary Disruptions Matter Of Concern

Commenting on parliamentary proceedings today, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Tuesday said the Constituent Assembly faced no disruptions "even for a single day" though it debated more complex issues.

Speaking during a programme at Sainik School in Rajasthan's Chittorgarh, he noted that parliamentary disruptions in the present times is a mater of concern.

“As the chairman of Rajya Sabha, I express my pain. The Constituent Assembly that gave us the Constitution held several meetings for around three years. The issues before it were divisive and complex as compared to the matters in the present, but all those were solved by deliberations,” Dhankhar said.

#Supreme Court rejects plea on validity of Article 370 abrogation

The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition that sought a declaration of the constitutionality of the abrogation of Article 370, which granted special status to the former state of Jammu and Kashmir. The plea was termed "misconceived" by a bench led by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud. The court noted that the issue of the constitutional validity of Article 370`s abrogation is already being considered by a constitution bench of the apex court.

"What kind of a petition is this? You are now seeking a declaration by this court that the abrogation of Article 370 is valid. Why should we issue that declaration on your petition? Who has set your client up?" the bench, also comprising Justices J B Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, asked the counsel appearing for the petitioner, PTI reported.

#Gujarat: Kejriwal, AAP RS MP Sanjay Singh move court for expeditious hearing on application challenging summons in defamation case

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party colleague and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Monday moved a plea before the sessions court here for expeditious hearing of their revision application challenging the summons issued to them by the trial court in a criminal defamation case.

Sessions Judge AV Hirpara said he will pass an order on the application for expeditious hearing on Tuesday.

The two AAP leaders are facing a criminal defamation case filed by Gujarat University over their "sarcastic" and "derogatory" statements in connection with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's degree.
