#Rahul Gandhi Won't Return To 12, Tughlaq Lane Bungalow

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi missed the 15-day deadline to respond to the Lok Sabha House Committee's re-allotment of the 12, Tughlaq Lane bungalow to him, which was vacated by him months before. The deadline lapsed on Wednesday, without the Congress leader sending his acceptance for the re-allotment of the bungalow.

The bungalow at 12, Tughlaq Lane was allotted to Gandhi and he had been staying in it since 2005, before he was asked to vacate it after his Lok Sabha membership was suspended.

#High Court Condemns NEET-UG OMR Sheet Manipulation Attempt By Medical Aspirant, Imposes Fines

Expressing "shock" over a medical aspirant's attempt to manipulate the OMR sheet filed by her while appearing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) UG-2023, the Delhi High Court has imposed Rs 20,000 as costs on the woman, making it clear that such an attempt cannot be tolerated in a court of law.

Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav said he intended to impose hefty costs on the petitioner woman and to refer the matter to the police but refrained from doing so given her tender age. The high court said it was shocked at the approach of the petitioner who kept insisting that the Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheet produced by her was original while the one shown by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to the court was not genuine.

#PM Modi Backs Brics Expansion At Summit, Says Should Be Done With Consensus

India fully backs the expansion of Brics (Brazil-Russia-India-China-South Africa) on the basis of consensus, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told a summit of the five-nation bloc on Wednesday in the face of a push by China to enlarge the grouping.

PM Modi suggested enhanced collaboration between Brics member states in areas such as space, education and technology, including the use of solutions developed by India which he said can help make the bloc a “future-ready organisation”. He offered to share platforms developed by India with other Brics members.

#New Curriculum Framework Aims To Ease Pressure On Students; Education Ministry Makes Major Changes

In a latest announcement by the Ministry of Education as per New Curriculum Framework, the board examinations will be conducted twice a year with students having the option to retain the best score, while class 11 and 12 students will have to study two languages instead of one.

As per the New Education Policy (NEP), the textbooks will be developed on its basis for the 2024 academic session. "In classes 11 and 12, students will have to study two languages and one of them has to be an Indian language," the final NCF (National Curriculum Framework) document accessed by PTI said.

With the Centre making it clear that it has “absolutely no intent” to touch the special provisions of the Constitution concerning states in the Northeast and other parts, the Supreme Court Wednesday refused to be drawn into a debate over them and disposed of an intervention application which sought to raise apprehensions.

A five-judge bench, presided by Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud, was hearing petitions challenging the Centre's 2019 move to abrogate Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcate the erstwhile state into two Union territories.
