In a significant development, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) panel has approved a proposal to change the way India is referred to in school textbooks. The proposal suggests replacing 'India' with 'Bharat.'
The panel has recommended the adoption of 'classical history' nomenclature, replacing 'ancient history' in textbooks. The committee's chairman, C I Issac, elaborated on these adjustments, underlining their significance.
Israeli foreign minister Eli Cohen slammed UN chief Antonio Guterres over his criticism of Israel's Gaza campaign while recounting graphic details of Hamas attacks on civilians.
