For now, it looks like the controversial revelations in the gold-smuggling-through-diplomatic-channels racket by key accused Swapna Suresh have been drowned out by the news of activists of the Students Federation of India (SFI) vandalising Congress leader and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi's office in Kalpetta on June 24. Swapna had made allegations against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, his family and key aides, alluding to their complicity in the racket, and the opposition, including the Congress, its allies in the United Democratic Front and the BJP, had been protesting loudly against the ruling CPI(M)-led government.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Abu Dhabi, UAE on Tuesday, June 28. He received a warm welcome by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the Abu Dhabi airport.

To give a boost to the vaccination drive in Delhi and make the precaution doses more accessible, the Kejriwal government will now provide Covid-19 vaccination at Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinics. For this, vaccination centres will be set up across all the mohalla clinics. This is a major step towards further increasing the vaccination rate in the capital, after a door-to-door campaign.

During the meet with the department, Delhi Deputy CM and Health Minister Manish Sisodia stated that Delhi has adopted the multi-pronged strategy to achieve optimal coverage of vaccination of all eligible beneficiaries. Currently, vaccination is being provided in a mission mode, but still a cohort of population for the second dose and significantly higher cohort is due for the newly added precaution dose. Addition of vaccination centres at mohalla clinics will help us achieve the higher vaccination target soon.

Launching a fresh attack on Shiv Sena leadership, dissident leader Eknath Shinde on Sunday wondered how could Bal Thackeray's party support the people having a direct connection with Dawood Ibrahim who was responsible for killing innocent Mumbaikars by triggering bomb blasts.

He said the banner of revolt was raised by him and other MLAs to protest against such support and he doesn't care for his life in the bid to save Bal Thackeray's Shiv Sena.

Shinde's tweets on Sunday night are an apparent reference to Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) minister Nawab Malik who is in jail in connection with a money laundering case allegedly involving relatives of Dawood Ibrahim.

The Punjab Congress president, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, called the Punjab budget a bunch of lies that lacks both content and quality and is a betrayal to the people of Punjab.

" The budget is not just a financial statement, but also a means to set the course for future progress and was the best chance for the government to show what 'badlaav' (change) it envisioned for the state and it has miserably failed on that", he observed.

"Not a single promise that the Aam Aadmi Party made before elections has been touched in the budget", he observed, while pointing out, there was not even a mention of providing Rs 1000 per month to all the women above the age of 18 in Punjab, which the AAP had promised before elections, filling tens of thousands of forms of women, who are now feeling cheated and betrayed.
