As outrage spirals over tailor Kanhaiya Lal's murder on camera by two men with terror links, stone-throwing erupted briefly today during a protest march by hundreds in Udaipur. The riot police moved in to control the crowds.

About 1,000 protesters from various Hindu organisations held up saffron flags and chanted slogans demanding justice as the procession marched under heavy security. Tensions peaked as the protesters walked near the area where the horrific murder took place on Tuesday. The police dispersed the agitated crowd.

"It is under control now," a senior police officer told a TV channel as the crowds thinned.

#PCA: Court Says Sanction Not Obtained in Plea Against Fadnavis, Sitharaman

A special court dealing with cases concerning MPs and MLAs has pointed out while hearing a plea by an advocate associated with the Congress seeking a probe for corruption against BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis, union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and others over Sena rebel MLAs been taken to Guwahati, that he has not secured sanction against them so that they could be prosecuted under the Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA).

#UdaipurMurder: Congress, BJP Come Together For Justice

After the gruesome cold-blooded killing of a Hindu tailor in Udaipur, the ruling Congress held a meeting of all political parties in Rajasthan on Wednesday to discuss on the future course of action. In the meeting all the parties, including Congress and BJP, strongly condemned the brutal murder and appealed for peace and restraint, PTI reported quoting the official sources. The all-party meeting was chaired by Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot in Jaipur. The chief minister also announced financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh to the dependent family of the deceased, who was identified as Kanhaiya Lal. The Hindu tailor was killed over a social media post supporting Nupur Sharma.

The BJP disciplinary committee has expelled rebellious party candidates for six years. The expelled people include Pawan Sharma who has also been suspended from the primary membership of the party.

A total of 31 leaders of Alot, Taal and Bravada are contesting as Independent candidates against the party's authorised candidates in the municipal elections. This has created a lot of problems for the party and has been considered as an act of indiscipline.

#AgnipathScheme: Worried Governor Urges PM Modi To Withdraw Scheme

Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik has added more discomfort for the Modi government over the new army recruitment scheme 'Agnipath'. He on Saturday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to withdraw the Agnipath scheme. In his words, 'Who will marry Agniveers if they retire without pension."

The Governor said, "The Agnipath scheme is never in the interest of the youth of the country. On the contrary, due to this scheme, the distance between the government and the village will increase." Incidentally, this is the first time that a Governor of a state has come out against the Agnipath scheme. However, the Congress and the Trinamool Congress have also come out against the project brought by the BJP government. Nitish Kumar's United Janata Dal has also raised its voice against 'Agneepath' scheme.
