#Gujarat: Free And Quality Education Will Be Provided If AAP Gets Elected In Polls, Says Arvind Kejriwal

Amid an ongoing debate over political parties announcing freebies, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said that free and quality education will be provided to the people of poll-bound Gujarat if his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is elected to power in the upcoming Assembly elections.

The AAP chief said that he will ensure regular auditing of private schools across the state. He also promised to improve the infrastructure of the existing government schools and open new ones in large numbers across the state if his party comes to power in the state currently ruled by the BJP.

On Independence Day, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee told how her 'Dream India' is. She tweeted about it on Monday. Mamata wrote there, "I have a dream for India! For the people, I want to build a nation where no one goes hungry, where no woman feels unsafe, where every child sees the light of education, where all are treated equally, where no oppressive forces divide the people & harmony defines the day."

On Monday, Mamata brought up several issues on Twitter. She did not attack anyone by name. However, according to some circles, Mamata may have pierced the current ruling party at the center. As the Chief Minister of Bengal said about her dream country, 'Everyone will be treated equally in that country. No repressive force will divide people, the day of harmony will come.' She also wrote, "It is my promise to the people of this great nation that I shall strive everyday for our dream India." At the same time, Trinamool supremo's question to the people of the country, "My fellow Indians, what is your dream for India?"

#NHAI: Centre Orders Quality Check of National Highway Work In Gujarat

In a first such move, the road transport ministry has directed the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) not to release major payments to a contractor for an NH in Gujarat until an audit team appointed by the Centre submits its report on the quality of works and the contractor takes corrective measures.

The ministry has set up the audit team comprising the PWD secretary of Gujarat, two professors from IITs and representatives of two district collectors to carry out investigation of the ongoing six-laning of Shamlaji to Mota-Chiloda section of NH-8. The 93-km NH stretch passes through three districts of Ahmedabad, Sabarkantha and Aravalli.
