Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate in September the revamped Central Vista Avenue, a part of the Union government’s ambitious Central Vista Redevelopment project, people aware of the matter said on Tuesday, adding that the event is likely to be held between September 8 and 10.

Originally scheduled to be completed by the end of 2021, the Central Vista Avenue’s work is now complete and Union housing and urban affairs minister Hardeep Singh Puri reviewed the progress on Tuesday morning during a site visit, one of the people aware of the matter said, asking not to be named.

The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) began work on the Avenue in February 2021.

Seven lawmakers of the Janata Dal (United) (JDU) will reportedly withdraw their support from the BJP-led Manipur government soon. However, the withdrawal by JD(U) legislators is not likely to pose any threat to Biren Singh's government in Manipur. This came after Nitish Kumar-led party parted ways with the NDA alliance in Bihar bringing down the BJP-JDU government in the state.

According to several media reports, Nitish Kumar is mulling withdrawing his support from the BJP government in Manipur. JDU had extended outside support to the Biren Singh government after the Manipur Assembly Elections earlier this year since the party was part of the NDA at that time. The BJP and JD(U) contested the Manipur Polls separately.

The CBI conducted multiple raids on the office and residence of RJD MLC Sunil Singh in Patna, Rajya Sabha MP Asfaq Karim in Katihar, RS MP Fayyaz Ahmed in Madhubani, Ex-MLC Subodh Rai in Vaishali and ex-MLA Abu Dojana in Sitamarhi.

"CM Nitish Kumar was aware of the CBI raid and he informed RJD leaders about the same in advance. Tejashwi Yadav has made Nitish Kumar a rubber stamp to protect themselves from various scams. Nitish Kumar is protecting criminals. As a result, the crime graph is rocketing in Bihar," Jaiswal alleged.

He said that Prime Minister has "no parallel in contemporary politics".

All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday slammed the Karnataka government over its decision to ban the sale of meat in Bengaluru on August 31 for Ganesh Chaturthi. "This is a government for the wealthy. It [Bengaluru meat ban] is against the right to occupation, livelihood and privacy," Owaisi said.

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has imposed a meat and slaughter ban in Bengaluru on August 31 for Ganesh Chaturthi. The ban will be applicable in all areas within the BBMP limits.
