#HateSpeech: No Need For Population Control, Says Asaduddin Owaisi As Mohan Bhagwat Cites 'Population Imbalance'

Lok Sabha MP from Hyderabad Constituency and AIMIM supremo Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday accused RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat of “fearmongering over population imbalance” in the country. Owaisi said “For Mohan (Bhagwat), it (Dussehra rally in Nagpur) is Annual Day of Dog Whistle and Hate Speech.”

The AIMIM Chief also said that there was no need to have population control law as India’s total fertility rate has significantly declined.

“If Hindus & Muslims have ‘same DNA’ then where’s the ‘imbalance’? There’s no need for population control as we’ve already achieved replacement rate,” Owaisi said.

The Hyderabad MP further said, “The worry is an ageing population and unemployed youth who cannot support elderly. Muslims have sharpest decline in fertility rate.”

#2G-Scam: CBI Files First Chargesheet, Names Raja As 'Mastermind' In Rs 1.76 Lakh Crore Telecom Corruption Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), in its first chargesheet on 2G scam, accused former Union Minister and DMK leader A Raja of being the `master mind` of the conspiracy in relation to the scandal. Corporate companies- Reliance Telecom, Swan Telecom, and Unitech Wireless along with eight persons are charged as co-accused in the case. Former telecom secretary Siddhartha Behura, Unitech chief Sanjay Chandra, DB Realty boss, its MD Vinod Goenka, and Swan Telecom MD Shahid Balwa are named in the charge sheet.

The 2008-2G case is an alleged corrupt sale of telecommunications bandwidth to selected organisations at prices that understated the real market value of the asset. The sale is claimed to have occurred when Raja headed the Telecommunications and IT Ministry; it has been considered the largest political corruption case in modern Indian history, amounting to around Rs 1.76 lakh crore.

Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde MOCKS Uddhav Thackeray, 'Whoever becomes my heir will be my son'

Ahead of his Dussehra rally, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday tweeted a couplet by famous Hindi poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, which said that whosoever is his heir will be his son and not vice versa. Shinde's tweet appears to be targeted at former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aaditya Thackeray. While Uddhav Thackeray heads one faction of the Shiv Sena, Shinde leads another camp. Both the leaders are scheduled to address the Dussehra rallies of their respective factions in Mumbai this evening.

Bachchan's couplet posted by Shinde said, "My son, being my son will not be my heir, whoever will be my heir will be my son."

#AAPvsDelhiLG: Saxena Asks For Enquiry Over Kejriwal Govt's Plan To Transfer Power Subsidy

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has directed the chief secretary to conduct an enquiry over the alleged non-implementation of power subsidy payment to consumers through DBT as was ordered by the DERC in 2018, sources at the LG office said on Tuesday. The top official has been asked to submit a report within seven days, they said.

The action followed after a complaint received by the LG Secretariat raised issues of "impropriety and discrepancies" in the power subsidy scheme of the Kejriwal government in Delhi, the sources said.

#Railways: Govt Prepares Master Plan To Revamp 200 Railway Stations Across India With Modern Facilities

Indian Railways is working relentlessly to revamp railway stations across the country. Until now many railway stations including the Gauriganj railway station have been revamped. Further, these redeveloped railway stations will have modern airport-like facilities to give passengers the utmost comfort and convenience of travelling. As many as 200 railway stations across the country will get a facelift with modern amenities, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated. He attended the foundation stone laying ceremony for a coach maintenance factory at the Aurangabad railway station in Maharashtra. He further stated that the government has prepared a master plan to revamp 200 railway stations.
