Amid reported rebellion in BJP's Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh units, Rajasthan CM and senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying his party is not what it used to be. Gehlot said people have started speaking up in the saffron party amid reports of suspension of several MLAs in the two poll-bound states.

While speaking to media, the Rajasthan CM siad, "At least 33 MLAs in Gujarat and 21 MLAs in Himachal have rebelled. PM Modi's party is not the same as it was, it has changed too, people have started speaking up."

#Elections: A Third Party Can Win Assembly Polls In Gujarat, Look At Delhi, Says Arvind Kejriwal

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said a third party can win elections in Gujarat, whose politics has been dominated by the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress for decades, if the people wanted and cited the example of the National Capital Region (NCR), where his outfit is in power.

The Delhi Chief Minister said the NCR`s politics was also once dominated by the two national parties, but the entry of the 2013-founded AAP in electoral arena changed everything.

He was addressing a gathering during a roadshow in Amreli in Gujarat, which goes to polls on December 1 and 5 to elect a new 182-member Assembly. Votes will be counted on December 8.

#RajivGandhiAssasination: Congress To Challenge Supreme Court Decision To Prematurely Release Rajiv Gandhi Killers

The Congress party will challenge the Supreme Court’s recent order granting early release to six convicts who were imprisoned for the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1991.

On 11 November, the top court released Nalini Sriharan, her Sri Lankan husband Murugan, Robert Pais, R.P. Ravichandran, Santhan and Jaikumar, noting that they had been jailed for over 30 years.

The bench of Justices B.R. Gavai and B.V. Nagarathna passed the order following a direction in May which had freed A.G. Perarivalan, another life-term convict in the case.

#Anti-ConversionLaw: MP Govt To Move SC Against Interim Relief From Action Given To Interfaith Couples

The Madhya Pradesh government is going to move the Supreme Court to challenge the high court's interim order restraining it from prosecuting interfaith couples who enter wedlock without informing the district magistrate.

The high court, in an interim order, directed the state government not to prosecute under section 10 of the MP Freedom of Religion Act (MPFRA) adults who solemnise their marriage on their own volition.

A division bench of Justices Sujoy Paul and PC Gupta on November 14 observed that section 10, which makes it obligatory for a citizen desiring (religious) conversion to give a (prior) declaration in this regard to the district magistrate, is "in our opinion ex facie, unconstitutional in the teeth of aforesaid judgments of this court".
