#Judiciary: Govt Never Got Back On Objection To HC List, Collegium Gives Nod To 8 As Judges

Dismissing concerns of the government, the Supreme Court Collegium, headed by Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud, has recommended two advocates and six district judges for appointment as judges of the Rajasthan High Court.

Sources told media that the Collegium had sought to know if there were specific objections against any name, based on intelligence inputs, but it did not receive a response.

It is learnt that Collegium has now cleared the names as it “presumed that there were no adverse intelligence inputs” from the government.

The death of the Delhi Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Leader Sandeep Bhardwaj has sparked a political row as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alleged it to be linked with a “bribe for MCD ticket" while AAP denying the allegations said it should not be connected to the distribution of tickets.

Addressing a press conference, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday said it is wrong to claim that the AAP leader took his life because he was denied a party ticket to contest the upcoming Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) polls. "This is very sad. Sandeep ji was close to me too. He used to play a very important role in the trade wing. You cannot connect the death with ticket, it's wrong,” he added.

In a major push to induct indigenously developed weapon systems, the Indian Air Force has moved a proposal worth over Rs 1,400 crore to the government for acquiring Rudram next-generation anti-radiation missiles (NGARM) to search and destroy enemy radar locations, informed defence officials.

"A proposal for acquisition of advanced missiles developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation is with the Defence Ministry and a high-level meeting would soon be taking a call on it," defence officials told ANI.
