5G services to launch in these cities first

5G services are launching in India sooner than one can expect. If reports are concerned, two major telecom operators Reliance Jio and Airtel may launch their 5G services in India by the end of this month. One of the latest reports suggests that the Indian government will officially launch 5G at the inauguration of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) on September 29. Recently, PM Narendra Modi said that 5G will launch in India sooner than one can expect. He also said the speed of 5G will be 10 times faster than 4G.

Anand Mahindra shares post about Rakesh Jhunjhunwala's 'most valuable advice'

Mahindra Group chairperson Anand Mahindra took to Twitter on Sunday to recall an “advice” given by late ace investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala. The words were shared by the late billionaire investor during an interview with a leading media house in 2019.

Sharing an excerpt of the interview, Mahindra called the advice “most valuable and profitable investment…ever”. “It’s advice that is worth billions and the best part is, it requires investing your time, not your money. #SundayThoughts,” he tweeted.

Jhunjhunwala, during the interview, had said his worst investment has been his “health” and that he encourages everybody to “invest the most in that”.

Nandan Nilekani-floated Fundamentum raises $227 Million for investing in startups

Fundamentum Partnership, floated by Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani and Helion Ventures co-founder Sanjeev Aggarwal, on Friday said it has raised $227 million to invest in early-growth stage Indian start-ups. The fund will support 4-5 startups each year and plans to lead or co-lead $25-40 million rounds.

“We have raised $227 million for our Fund 2 which we will invest in early-growth stage Indian start-ups. Fundamentum plans to fund enterprises that have attained product-market fit and have developed momentum in their scale-up journey,” the company said in a tweet.

Founded in 2017, Fundamentum is a homegrown scale-up fund building enduring technology companies.

Tata Motors bags order for 921 electric buses from BMTC under CESL tender

After receiving orders for electric buses from Delhi Transport Corporation and West Bengal Transport Corporation, Tata Motors has now bagged an order of 921 electric buses from Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC). Under the larger tender by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), Tata Motors will supply, operate and maintain 12-metre electric buses for a period of 12 years, as per the contract.

"Tata Starbus is an indigenously developed vehicle with superior design and best-in-class features designed for sustainable and comfortable travel," a company statement said on Thursday. BMTC Managing Director G Sathyavathi, was quoted as saying: "This order is paramount for Bengaluru's growing need for clean, sustainable urban mass mobility."

Foxconn to expand in India amid improving industrial environment, says report

Foxconn is planning to expand in India as overall industrial environment is improving in the country and amid an “upgrade in government efficiency, its Chairman Young Liu said. Liu said India has growing importance for the world’s largest contract manufacturer amid tensions with China.

“We think India will play a very important role in the future. So, overall, I think our development in India, I see it actively heading in a positive direction – that is, it is going to get better and better,” Liu told investors and analysts during the company’s second-quarter earnings call last week, according to an ET report.

Liu added that overall, on India, the group’s development in India will be actively expanding, according to the report, which quoted an edited earnings transcript. Taiwan-based Foxconn is the world’s largest contract manufacturer.
