After declining Shark Tank offer, IIT-IIM alumni Ganesh Balkrishnan sells his entire inventory in 2 days

Shark Tank India Season 2 is ongoing and streaming on the SonyLIV platform. In this season so far, there have been many pitches from start-ups across various verticals, but one that caught everyone's attention was from the founder of Flatheads, Ganesh Balkrishnan, who is an IIT (Indian Institutes of Technology) and IIM (Indian Institutes of Management) alumni.

Balkrishnan is the founder of Flatheads, a shoe brand made of breathable fibers. Since he pitched his business, everyone following Shark Tank India has been talking about him and his courage to talk about a loss-making business on camera. Balkrishnan pitched his business as a loss-making one, which would break most entrepreneurs. But his zeal and dedication to turning the loss-making business into a profitable one received a great response. So much so that in just 2 days of the episode telecast, the entire inventory of Flatheads was sold out. Balkrishnan informed about the same through a LinkedIn post and thanked Shark Tank India and the Sharks -- Anupam Mittal, Vineeta Singh, Peyush Bansal, Namita Thapar, and Aman Gupta.

BharatPe row: 'Ask him to maintain decorum', Delhi HC directs Ashneer Grover's counsel

The Delhi High Court has directed the lawyer for former BharatPe managing director Ashneer Grover to ask his client to maintain decorum. While hearing a suit filed by BharatPe, Delhi High Court’s Justice Navin Chawla also commented on the role of social media, and said, “This social media has brought us down to this level. Ask him to maintain decorum."

As reported by Bar & Bench, BharatPe’s counsel Rajeev Nayar told the court that Grover is saying things that cannot be repeated in a courtroom despite filing of the suit.

Advocate Giriraj S, who is representing Grover, stated that despite being the largest shareholder in BharatPe, Ashneer Grover was stopped from attending the Annual General Meeting (AGM). After this, Nayar said that Grover had equated the legal profession to 'prostitution' in his recently released book Doglapan, which is also a bestseller on Amazon.

'The clock cannot be put back': SC refuses to stop operations of Noida metro

Noting that the entire metro rail project is complete and running, the Supreme Court has refused to stop the Noida metro's operations for the want of an environmental clearance. The court was hearing an appeal filed against a May 31, 2016 order of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), directing that all metro rail projects need an environmental clearance after conducting a proper environment impact assessment. Keeping the question of law open, a bench of justices M R Shah and C T Ravikumar said the metro services in Delhi and Noida are being used by the public at large.

"In that view of the matter, when the entire metro rail project is complete and the metro rail is running, the clock cannot be put back and the same shall not be even in the larger public interest. Under the circumstances, we propose to dispose of the present appeals, keeping the questions of law open," it said.

DGCA issues advisory to airlines for handling disruptive passengers on board

The two latest instances of men urinating on female fellow passengers on two separate Air India flights have sparked significant outrage. The aviation regulator, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), slammed the Tata Group-owned airline, stating its behaviour was "unprofessional" and resulted in "systemic failure" in reference to the November incident where a drunken male is reported to have urinated on a senior citizen. NDTV stated quoting the First Information Report (FIR) that despite the incident taking place late last year (November 2022), Air India finally reported it to the police on 4 January 2023 against the offender, a Mumbai-based businessman named Shankar Mishra.

In addition to imposing a 30-day flying ban on the businessman, Air India has begun an investigation into the event that happened on one of its flights from New York to Delhi on 26 November 2022.
