Largest-ever deal: IndiGo orders 500 Airbus A320 family aircraft worth $50 billion

The country’s biggest airline, IndiGo, on Monday placed a firm order for 500 Airbus A320 family aircraft, making this the largest purchase by an Indian carrier and eclipsing Air India’s recent order for 470 planes.

The IndiGo order — worth almost $50 billion at list price, though IndiGo would have got a hefty discount thanks to the order size and the airline’s impeccable credentials — is also the largest-ever single aircraft purchase by any airline with Airbus.

Sony-Zee Merger: Zee's Subhash Chandra, Punit Goenka diverted public money, says SEBI

Capital markets regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in its reply in the matter of Zee Enterprises to Securities and Appellate Tribunal (SAT) has pointed out that Chairman Emeritus Subhash Chandra and Managing Director and CEO Punit Goenka have diverted public money to private entities, according to a report by news agency IANS.

"In the instant case, we have a situation before us where the Chairman Emeritus and the Managing Director and CEO of this large listed company are involved in a myriad of different schemes and transactions through which vast amounts of public money belonging to listed companies are diverted to private entities owned and controlled by these persons," IANS quoted SEBI as saying in its reply to SAT.

IndiGo commands more than 60% of India’s domestic market

India’s aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), has released its data for May, revealing IndiGo’s continued dominance over the country’s domestic market. While other airlines dwarf in comparison to IndiGo’s share, they, too, have gained market share, primarily because of the gap left behind by Go First’s grounding.

IndiGo’s control over the Indian aviation market received a further boost in May, with the DGCA revealing the carrier’s market share to be 61.4%. The airline has long been commanding more than half of the domestic sector and was swiftly chasing its next milestone – the 60% mark. Its share in April was 57.5%.

First Fast Food And Quick Service Restaurant Retail Network Report in India

A cloud-based data intelligence platform used by brands to pinpoint optimal locations for its physical stores, has released its first Fast Food & Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) Retail Network Report in India for 2023. The report tracks store counts and market penetration of 13 leading QSR and Fast Food brands.

GapMaps in their bi-annual report monitored 13 brands in nearly 6,000 locations across India, revealing that Domino's holds the most prominent store network with over 1,500 locations. Domino's also has at least one store in almost all of the 86 cities with a population exceeding 10 lakh residents. Additionally, they claim a substantial presence in the 211 cities with over 5 lakh residents.
