The Capital on Thursday recorded a maximum temperature of 43.1 degrees Celsius — the highest in the month of July since 2012, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The maximum temperature recorded at the Safdarjung weather station, which is considered the official marker for the entire city, was 43.1°C, six degrees above what is considered normal for this time of the year. The minimum temperature was 31.7°C, four degrees above the season’s normal.
According to IMD records, the maximum temperature in Delhi touched 43.5°C on July 2 both in 2012 and 1987.
