Reacting to the Singhu border killing on Friday, Swaraj Abhiyan leader Yogendra Yadav said that farmer leaders had asked the Nihangs to leave their protest site several times in the past.
"Samyukta Kisan Morcha [umbrella body of farmers' unions] leaders requested the Nihangs to leave Singhu on several instances. We told them this is a farmers' agitation, not a religious agitation, and that there's no place for them. But they stayed on," Yogendra Yadav said in a video posted on Twitter.
A 35-year-old Dalit man was found brutally murdered at Delhi's Singhu border on Friday. One of his hands and his legs were chopped off and he was tied to a police barricade near the farmers' protest site.
