Aryan Khan drugs case: Mumbai court to pass order on bail plea today

The special Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) court in Mumbai will on Wednesday pass its order on the bail plea of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, who was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the Mumbai cruise drugs case recently.

During a hearing on October 14, the court of Additional Session Judge VV Patil reserved its order on Aryan Khan's bail plea. The court scheduled the pronouncement of the order on October 20 due to Dussehra festival and the weekend.

34 killed, towns inundated in Uttarakhand flash flood

At least 34 people have died and more are missing after a flash flood swept through Ramgarh in Nainital district, where the popular lake town was also inundated and cut-off from the rest of the state, where a number of landslides too took place.

An unusual western disturbance – a rain system that originates in the Mediterranean region – swept across the northern plans and slammed into the Himalayan ranges, triggering extremely heavy rain spells often regarded as cloudbursts.

Army surrounds terrorists holed up in forest area in Jammu's Poonch, final assault to begin

The Indian Army has surrounded a small group of terrorists hiding in the dense forest area in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch sector.

Inputs indicate that four-six terrorists are hiding in the forest area that has now been surrounded by Special Forces. Surveillance equipment has also been deployed to track down the terrorists.

The final assault on the terrorists could begin anytime.

Migrant workers return to Jharkhand after clashes at Himachal project site

After a brawl between two groups of labourers working on the Tidong hydropower project in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, over 60 migrant workers have returned to Jharkhand while more are on their way back, according to officials.

“So far, a total of 61 workers have returned home in four batches and the process is going on. All the workers are residents of Khunti, Torpa, Bandgaon and other parts of the state,” the Jharkhand government said in a press statement on Monday. According to site in-charge Prakhar Shukla, a total of about 150 workers from Jharkhand wanted to return home.
