Germany calls for 'restraint' from North Korea, Trump

Shia Waqf Board claims right over Babri Masjid site

New Delhi:The Shia Central Waqf Board of Uttar Pradesh has told the Supreme Court that a mosque could be constructed in a Muslim- dominated area at a reasonable distance from the disputed site in Ayodhya.

The Board also told the apex court in an affidavit that the Babri Masjid site was its property and only it was entitled to hold negotiations for an amicable settlement of the dispute.

The Waqf Board has sought time from the SC for setting up of a committee for exploring an amicable resolution of the vexatious issue.

SC to hear plea to scrap Article 370

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has sought the Centre and the Jammu and Kashmir government's response on a petition seeking the scrapping of Article 370 of the Constitution, which confers special status on the state.

The decision to entertain the appeal assumes significance as the court, earlier this year, had ruled that Article 370 could not be scrapped unless an event specified in Article 370 (3) took place.

Panel Formed To Make Drugs More Affordable

New Delhi:The government has formed a committee in its attempt to make drugs more affordable in the country. 

"Government has constituted a committee of joint secretaries for ensuring enhanced affordability, availability and accessibility of drugs for the citizens," Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilisers Mansukh L Mandaviya said in a written reply to Lok Sabha.

Elaborating on the terms of reference of the committee, the minister said it would suggest ways to make pricing policy in favour of poor patients.
