Unexploded Bomb Found At Fukushima Nuclear Plant In Japan

New Delhi: A suspected unexploded bomb has been found at the site of the Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan. The US is thought to have dropped the 89 cm-long device during World War-II. 

It was found by workers building a car park at the site where a four-decade-long decommissioning process is under way.

Tens of thousands of residents had to evacuate the area after a reactor meltdown in 2011 following an earthquake and tsunami.

Sharad Yadav to begin his three-day ‘Jan Samvad’ programme from Bihar

New Delhi: Toughening his stand against party Chief and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, JD (U) Rajya Sabha MP Sharad Yadav will start his three day ‘Jan Samvad’ or mass contact programme in 10 districts of the state from today following the collapse of grand alliance.

JD(U) Rajya Sabha MP Sharad Yadav said that he will interact with the people to “seek a way out”. “In a way,” he said, “the trust of people has broken” after the Grand Alliance — comprising RJD, JD(U) and Congress — was undone in Bihar, and Nitish teamed up with the BJP to head an NDA government.

No relief to Sahara head Subrata Roy in Amby Valley case

New Delhi:The Supreme Court has refused to accept Sahara chief Subrata Roy's plea to put on hold the auction process of the group's project Amby Valley in Pune district of Maharashtra. 

During the hearing, senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for Mr Roy, said that the auction process should be put on hold till September so that his client could arrange 1,500 crore rupees to be deposited into SEBI-Sahara account.

Sense of unease among Muslims: Hamid Ansari

New Delhi: The outgoing Vice President Hamid Ansari has said that Muslims in the country were experiencing "a feeling of unease".

"A sense of insecurity is creeping in" as a result of the dominant mood created by some and the resultant intolerance and vigilantism, he said in his last interview before demitting the office of India's vice-president.

Ansari also said he shared the view of many that intolerance was growing.
