Jyotiraditya Scindia dubs Nitish-BJP alliance 'unholy'

New Delhi:Senior Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia has attacked Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for severing ties with 'Mahagathbandhan' as betrayal of people's mandate and termed the formation of a new government in the state with the BJP as an "unholy alliance".

Scindia asserted that the party would vehemently oppose the unholy alliance.

Scindia, who along with J P Agarwal held a meeting with party office bearers at Sadaquat Ashram in Patna assailed JD(U) president Nitish Kumar for deserting the grand alliance and joining hands with BJP.

Bhutan hopeful of peaceful resolution of Doklam Standoff

New Delhi: Bhutanese Foreign Minister Damcho Dorji has hoped that the standoff between Indian and Chinese troops in the Dokalam area of the Sikkim sector will be resolved "peacefully and amicably".

During his meeting with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj in Kathmandu, he said, "We hope the situation in Dokalam will be resolved peacefully and amicably".

SC Decides To Hold Final Hearing In Ayodhya Title Dispute From December 5

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday decided to hold the final hearing in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute from 5th of December and made it clear that no adjournment shall be given in any circumstance. 

A specially constituted bench, headed by Justice Dipak Misra, asked the contesting parties to complete the translation of the exhibits of the documents likely to be relied upon into English within 12 weeks since these were in eight different languages.

Monsoon Session Ends; Both Houses Of Parliament Adjourn Sine Die

New Delhi: Both Houses of Parliament adjourned Sine Die after completion of monsoon session. Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, while adjourning the House said this session had 19 sittings which lasted 71 hours. She said during these period, the House passed Supplementary Demands for Grants (General) and Demands for Excess Grants (General).

She said during this monsoon session, 17 Bills were introduced and 14 Bills were passed. Ms Mahajan said nearly 30 hours were wasted due to disruption. She, however, said the House sat over 10 hours extra to discuss matters of public importance.

Flag Hoisting, Singing National Anthem On I-day Must In UP Madrassas

New Delhi: In Uttar Pradesh, the government has directed all Madrassa to compulsorily hoist the national flag and sing the national anthem on Independence Day. In this regard, the Uttar Pradesh Madrassa Shiksha Parishad, the state government body has issued the letter. 

In the letter, the schedule for Independence Day celebration has been given in detail. As per schedule the flag hoisting will be done at 8 AM followed by the singing of the national anthem after which tributes will be paid to freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the independence of the country.
