India Releases 7 Pakistani Prisoners

New Delhi: India has released seven Pakistani prisoners and emphasised on the need for addressing all humanitarian issues, including early and full consular access to KulbhushanJadhav and Hamid Nehal Ansari, who are in Pakistan's custody.

The External Affairs Ministry in a statement also said that release of 300 Indian prisoners, including 295 fishermen, has been secured during 2017 so far.

Seven Pakistani prisoners, who have completed their sentence and whose nationality has been confirmed by Pakistani authorities, were repatriated to Pakistan via Attari/Wagah, the ministry said.

Mir accuses Mehbooba govt of creating controversies for political gains

New Delhi:The Jammu and Kashmir Congress has assailed the PDP-BJP government for allegedly creating controversies to serve its vested interests and divert the people's attention from its alleged misrule.

"The uncertainty in the state is created by the PDP-BJP government which is responsible for creating social and political uncertainty. They can go to any extent to remain in power," J-K Congress chief G A Mir said.

Javadekar Promises Better Research Infrastructure In Country Soon

New Delhi: The NDA government is planning to build a better research infrastructure in the country at a cost of Rs 20,000 crore, according to Union Human Resource Development Minister PrakashJavadekar. 

Addressing the fourth convocation of Sri Sri University in Cuttack, the minister said in order to promote research and innovation in higher education in the country, his ministry is working on the proposed Prime Minister s Scholarship scheme in which at least 1000 best innovative minds will get monthly scholarships of Rs 75,000.
