New Delhi: A delegation of AIADMK leaders, belonging to the recently merged faction have demanded from Finance Minister Arun Jaitley release of pending funds to Tamil Nadu.
Led by LokSabha Deputy Speaker M Thambidurai, the delegation included Rajya Sabha MP V Maitreyan, state ministers P Thangamani, D Jayakumar and C V Shanmugam, which called on Jaitley.
"There are funds pending up to Rs 17,000 crore for the state and we have come to ask for it," he said.
New Delhi: Making a mockery of the Centre's move to organise "patriotic" rock shows at the IITs and central universities, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi has alleged that it amounted to "interference" in the functioning of the country's premier educational institutions.
He also described the decision as "shocking and strange".
"This is very shocking and strange that the government is now saying it will send rock bands to instill patriotism.
Please define a patriotic rock band," the Hyderabad MP said.
