New Delhi: Protests by parents and locals outside Ryan International School in Gurugram took a violent turn on Sunday, as the agitating mob set ablaze a liquor shop in the school's vicinity. Police used batons to control the mob and detained 20 protestors. The protestors alleged that school drivers and conductors often consume alcohol from the liquor shop in their free time. Accused Ashok Kumar worked as a bus conductor of the school.

Meanwhile Barun Thakur, father of 7-year –old Pradhyuman Thakur who was brutally murdered within the premises of his school reiterated his demand for a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation. His plea came a day after the Gurugram police asserted that they will complete the investigation and file the charge sheet in 7 days. At a time when other parents are emotionally charged, the bereaved father requested protesters to maintain calm and let law enforcement officials carry out their duty.
