Govt Launches Pradhan Mantri LPG Panchayat In Gujarat

New Delhi: Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan launched the Pradhan Mantri LPG Panchayat at Mota Ishanpur village in Gandhinagar district of Gujarat on Saturday. 

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Pradhan said that total one lakh Pradhan Mantri LPG Panchayats would be organized across the country in next one and half year to provide an interactive platform to the rural LPG users. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani was also present on this occasion.

Sushil Modi Says Better Bonding Within Ideological Family In Narendra Modi Era Than Vajpayee Times

New Delhi: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi  has asserted that during the Vajpayee government there was "dichotomy" between government and party workers but now under Narendra Modi the BJP has created a strong bond between leadership, workers and huge "ideological family". 

"During Vajpayee times there was dichotomy between government and party workers...while people were happy with Vajpayee government, BJP workers were unhappy," Sushil Modi said speaking at launch of a book "How the BJP wins." 

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi has created a strong bond between party workers, party's "ideological family" and the leadership which is helping it win election after elections," the senior BJP leader said.

Governance Must Be Left To Those Elected To Govern: Ravi Shankar Tells Judiciary

New Delhi: Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has asserted that the judiciary should leave the governance of the country to those who have been elected by the people to govern.

"The governance must be left to those elected to govern by the people of India," the minister remarked while speaking at a function of the National Human Rights Commission.

The minister said that while the judiciary can set aside a law which is unconstitutional, it must leave governance and law making to those elected by voters.

Sharad Yadav Submits Reply To RS Chair Over Disqualification Plea

New Delhi: JD(U)'s rebel MPs Sharad Yadav and Ali Anwar have submitted their replies to the Rajya Sabha chairman, contesting their party's plea that they be disqualified for their alleged anti-party activities.

Javed Raza, a general secretary of the rebel faction, said the two Rajya Sabha members submitted their response through lawyers to the office of Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu.

"They have argued that they are the ones running the real JD(U). They have also referred to our national executive meeting held here recently. The reply runs into over 400 pages," he said.

Cong Assails Modi Govt's Handling Of Economy

New Delhi: The Congress has contended that the economy is in bad shape under the Modi government and asked how it will get the Rs 50,000 crore "viagra boost" it has planned for the economy.

Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal accused the Modi government of "playing with the life of the common man" with its handling of the economy. Citing the high fuel prices, he alleged that the poor were being taxed to fill the coffers of the rich.
