New Delhi: The Indian and Russian armed forces will take part in a joint counter-terrorism military exercise in Russia from Thursday, the first such drill involving the tri-services to be held outside the country.

The 11-day 'INDRA-2017' exercise, starting from October 19, will be conducted at the 249th Combined Army Range Sergeevisky and in the Sea of Japan near Vladivostok.

The Indian contingent will comprise 350 personnel from Army, 80 from Air Force, two IL 76 aircraft and one frigate and corvette each from the Navy.

New Delhi: Former Union finance minister Yashwant Sinha has once again assailed economic policies of the Narendra Modi-led government and called for lokshakti (peoples power) to check rajshakti (government).

Speaking at an event organised by farmers NGO Shetkari Jagar Manch at Akola in Maharashtra`s Vidarbha region, he also singled out the central government over demonetisation and implementation of GST.
Referring to socialist leader Jayaprakash Narayan, Sinha appealed for a lok shakti movement which will keep a check on raj-satta (government).

New Delhi: Backed by spectacular hat-trick by striker Tim Weah,  United States has trounced  Paraguay 5-0 in the pre-quarterfinal of the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017.

In a fast-paced encounter, the Americans put up their best performance of the tournament to make it to their sixth quarter-finals of the U-17 showpiece event.

USA had finished third in Group A while Paraguay had topped Group B and today's pre-quarterfinal match was expected to be a tight one but in the end it turned out to be a completely one-sided match as the South American side never seemed to turn up.

New Delhi: With state assembly elections approaching fast, PM Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah will address over seven lakh party workers in the Gujarat Gaurav Yatra Samapan Mahasammelan on Monday. 

Senior BJP leaders said all seven lakh of its workers in the state and 'page pramukhs' (electoral roll in-charge) from all 182 assembly constituencies would attend the event at Bhat village on the outskirts of Ahmedabad to make it one of the largest party workers meetings held by BJP.
