New Delhi: An anti-corruption court has indicted Pakistan's ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter and son-in-law over corruption references filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

The accountability court in Islamabad indicted 67-year-old Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and her husband retired Captain Mohammad Safdar in the London properties reference even though Sharif and lead defence counsel Khawaja Haris are both out of the country.

Vinay Katiyar Claims Taj Mahal Is A Mausoleum Built On Shiva Temple

New Delhi: Adding a new dimension to the controversy surrounding Taj Mahal, senior BJP leader Vinay Katiyar has claimed that it was Lord Shiva's temple called 'Tejo Mahal' which was converted into a mausoleum by Shahjahan.

He, however, added that he does not want the monument as famous as this, which is among the wonders of the world, to be demolished.

He also has no objection to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visiting the Taj Mahal to review tourism schemes.

Ex-CM Dhumal On BJP Final List For HP Polls

New Delhi: Former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal’s name figures in the list of candidates for the upcoming Himachal Pradesh election, giving rise to the speculation that he would be considered for the post of CM in case the party is in a position to form a government.

Dhumal and Himachal Pradesh BJP chief Satpal Singh Satti are among the party's candidates for the upcoming assembly elections. BJP has released its final list of candidates for all the 68 seats in the state. 
The list does not include health minister JP Nadda, who has also been seen as a likely contender for the CM post.

Drms Empowered To Re-Engage Retired Rail Staff

New Delhi: In a major decision, the Railway Board has empowered Divisional Railway Managers (DRM) to re-engage retired rail personnel for appropriate posts in the sector.

"Divisional railway managers are empowered to re-engage retired employees. Railway should give publicity to such re- engagement by putting it on railway websites," according to a letter from the board. 

The board said those re-appointed can only be in service till they are 62. The retirement age of employees is 60.

China's Communist Party Congress Begins In Beijing

New Delhi: China's biggest political event, the Communist Party Congress, began in Beijing on Thursday.  At the opening of the Congress President Xi Jinping said China will deepen economic and financial reforms and further open its markets to foreign investors. China will look to move from high-speed to high-quality growth. 

Xi further said Beijing will push ahead with market-oriented reforms of its foreign exchange rate as well as its financial system, and let the market play a decisive role in the allocation of resources.
