Bihar To Pitch For Nat'l Tariff At Power Ministers' Meet

in DNDQuick

New Delhi: Bihar is likely to raise demand for a national power tariff at the two-day conference of power ministers at Rajgir in the state`s Nalanda district from November 10.

State energy minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav said that the country should have a national power tariff with no regional variations, quite like the new uniform taxation system in the form of GST.
"We end up paying more to the NTPC for power since we get electricity via eastern region. A national tariff will bring relief to power consumers in the east," he said.
