Hardik Patel Cries Foul After ‘Sex Clip’ Goes Viral

New Delhi: Patidar quota leader Hardik Patel has courted controversy as two sex video clips allegedly showing him with a woman went viral on social media.

About 10 days ago, Hardik had predicted that a doctored sex CD would be out soon to defame him. "Soon they will release my sex CD. Enjoy, keep watching," Hardik had said.

The video clips, showing recording of the night of May 16, 2017, sent social media into a tizzy as it was forwarded with barbs like "Patidar community and Gujarat's traitor Hardik Patel's kaam leela" and "This is the real face of pervert Hardik Patel who is misguiding Patel community." Authenticity of the two video clips could not be verified.

Government To Launch Bharatnet Phase 2 Project Today

New Delhi: The government will today launch its second and final phase of BharatNet project to provide high-speed broadband service in all Gram Panchayats by March 2019. It will be implemented at an outlay of around 34 thousand crore rupees.

Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is organizing a National Conference in New Delhi in which it will sign MoUs with states for the implementation of the second phase of BharatNet. 

Under this phase, broadband connectivity will be provided in remaining 1.5 lakh Gram Panchayats in the country. Information and Technology Ministers and Secretaries from States and service providers will participate in the conference.

UGC Asks 123 Deemed-to-be Varsities To Drop ‘University’ From Names

New Delhi: As many as 123 institutions of higher education which are deemed to be universities have been directed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to refrain from using the word 'university' in their names.

In a circular issued on November 10, a copy of which is with TOI, UGC secretary PK Thakur citing a Supreme Court order dated November 3, has directed the heads of these institutes that they should "restrain from using the word 'university' within one month from today." "Instead, the institution may mention the word 'deemed to be university' within parenthesis.

Organisations Burn Posters Of Padmavati In Noida

New Delhi: Several outfits today protested against the Bollywood film 'Padmavati' and appealed to people not to watch the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed movie, which is due to release shortly.

Two of the protesting organisations -- the Rajputana Vikas Sanghthan and the Veer Kunwar Singh Shodh Sanghthan -- also submitted a memorandum to the district magistrate, demanding a ban on the movie.

The Rajputana Vikas Sanghthan protested and tore posters of the film in front of a Sector 38 mall and a Sector 18 cinema hall, while at the Sector 25, its members raised slogans against the movie.
