Punjab Congress president Navjot Sidhu’s continued attacks on the state government over the sacrilege issue and the ensuing chaos in the state party unit “may result in a decision” in the state soon, even as early as Tuesday, sources said.
AICC state incharge Harish Chaudhury held a meeting with CM Charanjit Channi and Sidhu on Monday, after the latter’s yet another offensive against the state government. Chaudhury also had a meeting with AICC general secretary KC Venugopal.
There was also a meeting of a senior party office bearer with Congress president Sonia Gandhi, it is learnt. “There should be a movement on the issue tomorrow. It may be settled for good,“ a senior leader said.
