New Delhi: The National Commission for Women, NCW, today asked Haryana Police to look into the controversial remarks of a state BJP leader against actress DeepikaPadukone and Padmavati film Director, Sanjay LeelaBhansali. Taking suomotu cognizance, the Commission wrote to Haryana Director General of Police to take appropriate action in the case and apprise the NCW of it.
Haryana BJP's media coordinator Suraj Pal Ammu gave a threat of killing the actress and the director over the movie.

Meanwhile, BJP has distanced itself from the controversial comments. Party General Secretary Anil Jain said, the party will send a show cause notice to him.

New Delhi: The government says over nine lakh houses have already been completed under the PradhanMantriAwasYojana (Gramin). The Ministry of Rural Development said, over 55 lakh houses have already been sanctioned and work is in progress.

Nearly 30 lakh of these houses have reached roof level  construction and 15 lakh of these houses are at finalization level. The Ministry said, a target of 51 lakh houses is to be completed by 31st of March next year and one crore by 31st March, 2019. The housing scheme was launched exactly one year ago by Prime Minister NarendraModi at Agra.

New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India, UIDAI, has said Aadhaar data was completely safe and secure and there has been no leak or breach at its database.

UIDAI clarified that Aadhaar numbers which were made public on the websites do not pose any real threat to the people as biometric information is never shared and is fully secure. The Unique Identification Authority reiterated that Aadhaar security systems are the best of the international standards.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a petition seeking deletion of certain alleged objectionable scenes from Bollywood movie Padmavati. A bench headed by Chief Justice DipakMisra  called the petition premature. It observed that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has not yet given certificate to the movie and the apex court cannot injunct a statutory body from doing its duty.

The petitioner had alleged that there was character assassination of Rani Padmavati in the film and the CBFC should not go into these aspects. The bench said, the court cannot direct the CBFC to decide a matter in a particular manner as it was for the board to take a call.
