New Delhi: Bihar deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi's son and private sector employee Utkarsh has married Kolkata-based chartered accountant Yamini  in the presence of a large number of politicians and dignitaries.

Union ministers Arun Jaitley, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Ram Vilas Paswan, Dharmendra Pradhan, Giriraj Singh, Bihar Governor Satyapal Mallik, Goa governor Mridula Sinha, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar and Jharkhand chief minister Raghubar Das were among those present at the ceremony.

J&K CM Mehbooba Mufti Re-elected As PDP President

New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was unanimously re-elected as president of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party on  Saturday.

The election for the post of the PDP president was held in Jammu- the winter capital city of the state, at party office.

According to a party spokesperson, Mehbooba Mufti was re-elected for the sixth term in a row. The PDP was headed and founded by late chief minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed in 1999.

NCRB Says 95% Of Country’s Road Rage Murders Took Place In UP

New Delhi: National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) has pointed out that Uttar Pradesh has witnessed the maximum number of road rage murders.

Out of 4,889 murders in the state in 2016, almost 10% (489 murders) were blamed on road rage, shows the annual crime data compiled by NCRB.

As per data, 513 murders were reported in 29 states and 7 Union Territories in which the motive of murders was registered as 'road rage', which means 95% of all such murders were committed in UP.

Obama Says India Should Nurture Its Muslim Population

New Delhi: Former US President Barack Obama has asserted that India should nourish and cultivate its Muslim population which is successful and integrated and considers itself Indian unlike in some other countries.

He also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi recognises the importance of Indian unity.

He said he had spoken of the need for religious tolerance and the right to practise one's faith in private conversations with Modi, a theme he spoke of during his last official visit to India as President in 2015.

PM Modi Asks Party’s Women To Fight Online Rumours

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi has addressed women workers of Gujarat BJPthrough the 'NaMo mobile app'.

In the live address, he appealed to them to counter anti-BJP propaganda on social media.

Without directly referring to the Patidar reservation stir, Modi said, "A low-level effort is being made to damage the social fabric of Gujarat." He said that over the past 22 years, BJP had got rid of caste clashes and communal riots and had freed Gujarat from curfews.
