Mukherjee Pitches For Job Creation With Focus On Rural Unemployed

New Delhi:Former President Pranab Mukherjee has appealed government to ensure employment creation with a special focus on the rural unemployed.

"What type of a growth would we like to have? We must have growth with jobs. Jobless growth cannot be the object of a country like ours, he said speaking at the RD National College in Mumbai.

"We must have job creation and there must be a balance between the job creation in the urban unemployment and the rural unemployment," he added.

Hafiz Saeed Leads Rally In Lahore, Attacks Trump's Jerusalem Decision

New Delhi: Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed has made his first public appearance after he was freed from house arrest and led a rally to launch a country-wide campaign against US President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

The Jammat-ud-Dawah (JuD) chief, who carries a bounty of $10 million, was released from a 10-month-long house arrest on November 24 by the Pakistan government.

Saeed said the Defence Council Pakistan (DCP) will send its delegations to Muslim countries and convince them not to open their embassies in Jerusalem as he led the rally outside the JuD headquarters in Chauburji after the Friday prayers.

SC Warns Lawyers Against 'Raising Voice' In Courts

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has warned a small band of senior advocates and lawyers against raising their voice during arguments when they find the court disagreeing with them.

A five-judge constitution bench of Chief Justice DipakMisra and Justices A K Sikri, A M Khanwilkar, D Y Chandrachud and Ashok Bhushan took strong exception to the tactics employed by the 'shouting brigade' and said, "Lawyers are called the ministers of justice. They are also referred to as officers of the court. But unfortunately, a small group of lawyers raise their voice.

Rajnath Proposes J&K-Like Grid On Eastern Front To Check Infiltration

New Delhi: Union home minister Rajnath Singh has solicited the cooperation of all five states sharing their boundary with Bangladesh to create a foolproof mechanism to secure the border.

At a day-long meeting of chief ministers and home ministers of West Bengal, Assam, Mizoram, Meghalaya and Tripura in Kolkata to discuss issues pertaining to the Indo-Bangladesh border, Singh also proposed a 'border protection grid' — on the lines of the existing Unified Command structure in Jammu & Kashmir and other insurgency-hit states — comprising elements like physical and non-physical barriers, surveillance systems, intelligence agencies, state police, BSF and other state and central agencies to check illegal cross-border movement of people, cattle, fake Indian currency and drugs.

Modi Says Some Now Put Bhole Baba Over Babasaheb

New Delhi: Prime Minister NarendraModi has mocked  Congress heir imminent Rahul Gandhi by saying that he was remembering "Bhole baba" more than "Babasaheb" (Ambedkar) these days, continuing the exchange of barbs with the Congress vice-president in the run-up to the Gujarat election campaign.

Inaugurating DrAmbedkar International Centre, Modi said his government laid the foundation for the building in 2015 and completed it before the deadline though the project had remained a non-starter since it was conceived in 1992. "The political parties which seek votes in the name of Ambedkar may not even be aware of it. But these days, they (remember) Baba Bhole more than Babasaheb.Chalo, itna hi sahi," he said in his public address after unveiling the DAIC.
