JD(U) Rebel Faction To Approach EC For Recognition As New Party

New Delhi: The SharadYadav-led rebel JD(U) faction will soon move the Election Commission (EC) to be recognised as a new party.

A former JD(U) general secretary and close aide of Yadav, Arun Kumar Shrivastavsaid they will file an application with the EC in a day or two and hold a convention after the results of the Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh polls were announced on December 18.

Among the names the new party will seek for itself in its application to the EC are Samajwadi Janata Dal and LoktantrikJanata Dal.

Japan, US, South Korea To Hold Missile Tracking Exercise

New Delhi: The United States, Japan and South Korea will hold two days of missile tracking drills starting today, according to Japan's Maritime Self-Defence Force.

The United States and South Korea conducted large-scale military drills last week, which the North said made the outbreak of war "an established fact".

North Korea has fired missiles over Japan as it pursues nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles in defiance of UN sanctions and international condemnation. On November 29, it test-fired an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) which it said was its most advanced yet, capable of reaching the mainland United States.

Rajnath Asserts NE States' Territorial Integrity Won't Be Hit By Naga Pact

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has contended that the territorial integrity of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Manipur would not be compromised while inking the final Naga peace accord.

Singh also said that violence perpetrated by insurgent groups in the Northeast has come done significantly -- by 75 to 80 per cent.

"There should be no apprehension or worry for anyone.
Territorial integrity of no state will be affected," Singh told reporters atShokhuvi in Nagalandon the sidelines of a 'SainikSammelan' of the paramilitary Assam Rifles.

CJI Calls For Primacy To Institutional Arbitration

New Delhi: Chief Justice of India Justice DipakMisra has said that if India has to become the hub of arbitration, institutional arbitration has to be given primacy. 

Addressing an international conference on Arbitration in the era of globalization in New Delhi today, Justice Misra said, India has to grow its own arbitration system and he is in favour of institutional arbitration like Indian Council of Arbitration. 

He said, less interference, maximum realisation must come into play and arbitration must become cost-effective.

Kejriwal Says His Govt Won't Tolerate Open Loot, Negligence By Pvt Hospitals

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister ArvindKejriwalhas asserted his government will not tolerate "open loot and criminal negligence" by private hospitals.

He said the AAP government was "very sensitive" in both education and health sectors.

The Delhi government cancelled the licence of Max Hospital, Shalimar Bagh with immediate effect, for alleged medical negligence including the twins case in which one of the babies was found alive after being declared dead by the doctors.
