Dalits Feel Insecure In Gujarat: Rahul

New Delhi: Congress's president-elect Rahul Gandhi has snubbed Prime Minister NarendraModi over alleged atrocities on Dalits in Gujarat, insisting the community feels insecure in the state.

Gandhi asked who will take responsibility for the Una incident where young Dalit men were flogged for skinning a dead cow.

"Neither land, nor employment, no health and no education, Gujarat's dalits received only insecurity”,he said.

"Modiji is silent on Una's tragic incident, but who will take the responsibility for it. A number of laws were made in the name of dalits, but who will execute them earnestly," he said on Twitter.

Sena Attacks PM For Dragging Pakistan To Win Gujarat Polls

New Delhi: In yet another sharp attack on Prime Minister NarendraModi, the Shiv Sena has asserted dragging Pakistan into Gujarat election campaign was an "impious" way of trying to win the polls.

A prime minister is supposed to take action and not level allegations, the ally opined and took a swipe at Modi saying Gujarat has become even more important than Kashmir.

Modi, during his election campaign on Sunday, suggested that Pakistan was trying to influence the Assembly polls in Gujarat, claiming some Pakistani officials and ex-prime minister Manmohan Singh met a day before Mani Shankar Aiyar made the "neech" remark against him.

Congress Blames Centre, BJD For ‘Misleading People For Votes’

New Delhi:Opposition Congress has castigated the BJD government in Odisha and the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre, charging them with misleading people to garner votes.

"Both the governments have betrayed the people of India by making false promises just to get votes. They should be aware of the consequences in coming days," Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra of the Congress said in Odisha Assembly.

The Congress leader alleged that the BJD had not been able to fulfill promises made by it before the 2014 general elections.

New York Police Charge Bangladeshi-Origin Bombing Suspect

New Delhi: New York police have charged an ISIS-inspired Bangladeshi-origin man, a day after he triggered a blast at a metro station leaving other three people injured and causing chaos in one of the busiest commuter hubs in the US metropolis.

AkayedUllah, the 27-year-old suspected bomber, had wires and a pipe bomb strapped to his body. The device exploded prematurely between two subway platforms near Port Authority, which is America's largest bus terminal.

The New York Police Department tweeted that Ullah was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, supporting an act of terrorism and making a "terroristic threat".

SC Asks Centre To Explore Linking Live Feed Of Court Proceeding With Grid

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has asked the Centre to find out the possibility of connecting live video recordings of court proceedings with National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG).

The top court also directed the Centre to consider a provision for installing CCTV cameras in consultation with the appropriate superior authority of the concerned court or tribunal in places which do not have high ranking officials.

A bench of Justices Adarsh Kumar Goel and U U Lalit asked Additional Solicitor General Pinki Anand to take instruction with regard to connecting of live video recording with NJDG.
