New Delhi: External Affairs Minister SushmaSwaraj on Thursday eveningarrived in Katmandu on two day visit to Nepal. Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale and other senior officials are accompanying her. 

Swaraj was received at the airport by Nepal's Minister of State for Finance UdayaShumsherRana, Foreign Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi, Indian Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri and other senior officials of Embassy of India. 

During her stay at Kathmandu Swaraj will hold discussions with leaders of various political parties on issues of mutual interest and to enhance long-standing special ties of friendship between India and Nepal. 

New Delhi: Congress president Rahul Gandhi has accusedBJP's ideological mentor, the RSS, of discriminating against women and "disempowering" them.

"RSS idea is aimed at disempowering women. Does anyone know many leadership positions are with women in RSS? Zero," Rahul said at St Edmund's College in Shillong.

Touting his own party's "pro-feminist" credentials, Rahul said: "If you see a picture of Mahatma Gandhi, you'll find women on this side (right), this side (left). But, if you see a picture of Mohan Bhagwat, he'll be alone or surrounded by men."

New Delhi: The Telangana unit of BJP has asserted that veteran BJP leader Yashwant Sinha and party MP Shatrughan Sinha should quit the party as they have "crossed all the limits". 

The demand for resignations from the party has come after disgruntled leader Yashwant Sinha launched the political platform named 'Rashtra Manch’ in New Delhi.

A number of politicians led by BJP MP Shatughan Sinha joined the function.

New Delhi: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, who joined the ruling NDA at the Centre after breaking grandalliance with the RJD and the Congress, has been alloted a posh bungalow in Lutyens' Delhi.

The ministry of housing and urban affairs alloted the top bracket bungalow at 6 K Kamraj Lane to the JD(U) supremo, an official said.

Every state has a certain quota of bungalows in the national capital, he said, adding based on that quota, Kumar, as the chief minister, was allotted the house.
