Maharastra: Auto drivers displeased as CNG price up for fourth time in four months

in DNDQuick

In a decision set to further deepen the hole in the pockets of daily commuters, the price of CNG in Pune city has been increased by a margin of Rs 1.80, making it cost as much as Rs 63.90 per kg. Earlier, a kilogram of CNG used to cost Rs 62.10.

As per the report by a national daily, the decision was met by severe criticism from vehicle owners, particularly by auto-rickshaw drivers, as this was the fourth consecutive increase in prices in the past four months.

"Earlier this week, a decision was taken to increase auto-rickshaw fares, which was a relief to us. But with CNG prices increasing again, we shall not see much savings as things will go back to the way they were. While petrol and diesel prices have decreased, this increment in CNG prices will hit our income," an auto-rickshaw driver said, expressing his dissatisfaction with the revised pricing.
