TN CM Palaniswami Submits Memorandum To PM Modi

New Delhi: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister NarendraModi on the state's development projects on Sunday. He submitted it while seeing off the Prime Minister at the airport on Sunday evening.

The memorandum also contained representations related to Tamil Nadu, an official release here said. Further details of the memorandum were not immediately known.

Modi, who arrived in Chennai last evening to launch the Tamil Nadu government's 'Amma two-wheeler scheme,' stayed at the Raj Bhavan last night before leaving for neighbouringPuducherry this morning to attend various events there.

Rs 1000-crore Development Projects For Daman & Diu Inaugurated By Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister NarendraModi on Saturday inaugurated various developmental projects worth 1000 crore rupees in Union territory of Daman and Diu. 

He launched the helicopter service between Daman and Diu. MrModi also launched Air Odisha flight service connecting Ahmedabad with Diu under UDAN Scheme.

Addressing a public meet in Daman, Prime Minister said, the helicopter service and air connectivity under UDAN have brought Daman and Diu in the mainstream of development. He said, the connectivity will boost tourism in the union territory.

Hardik Patel Says Don't Consider Rahul Gandhi My Leader

New Delhi: Gujarat's Patidarquota agitation spearhead Hardik Patel has made it clear that he does not consider Congresspresident Rahul Gandhi "my leader" and pitched for the entry of Priyanka Gandhi into active politics.

The PatidarAnamatAndolanSamiti (PAAS) leader also announced that he would not contest next year's LokSabha election, despite attaining the eligibility age of 25 years.

"I like Rahul Gandhi at a personal level, but I do not consider him as a leader because he is not my leader," Patel said at an event in Mumbai.

Election To 58 Rajya Sabha Seats Declared, Polling On March 23

New Delhi: The Election Commission (EC) has announced polls to 58 RajyaSabha seats which will fall vacant in April this year. Polling for the 58 seats will be held on March 23.

The term of office of 58 members of the Upper House, elected from 16 states, is due to expire upon their retirement in April-May 2018.

The vacancies to be filled are 10 seats from Uttar Pradersh, six each from Biharand Maharashtra; five each from West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh; four each from Gujarat and Karnataka; three each from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha and Rajasthan; two from Jharkhand; and one seat each from Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Anna Hazare Exhorts People To Teach NDA Govt A Lesson For Its Anti-Farmer Policies

New Delhi: Social activist Anna Hazare has appealed the public to teach the NDAgovernment "a suitable lesson" for its "anti-farmer" policies.

He said the NarendraModi-led government has failed to work in the farmers' interest despite coming to power by making "alluring" promises to the public.

"The Modi government has failed to work in the interest of farmers even though it came to power by making alluring promises to the public. Modi government is more concerned about industrialists than the farmers," said Hazare.
