Indian High Commissioner Meets Pak NSA Janjua to Discuss Bilateral Relations

New Delhi: To improve strained bilateral relations between India and Pakistan, Indian High Commissioner Ajay Bisaria on Tuesday met Pakistan’s National Security Advisor Naseer Khan Janjua. He most prominently raised India’s concerns over cross border terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir emanating from cross across border besides discussing ways to improve strained relations.

Diplomatic sources in the Indian High Commission told PTI that the meeting took place in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in Islamabad.

“It was a courtesy meeting held in the PMO,” they said.

CAG Finds Financial Irregularities in Delhi Government Working

New Delhi: Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has found a slew of irregularities in the financial administration of the Delhi government prompting it to say on Tuesday that a federal investigation will be sought in at least 50 such instances of government resources being swindled.

Some of the important findings of the CAG, tabled by deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia in the Assembly on Tuesday, included untracked funds amounting to Rs 7,270 crore and instances where ration shop owners cornered subsidised grains meant for the poor.

“No one will be spared,” said chief minister ArvindKejriwal, promising “exemplary action”. The government said it would send at least 50 cases pointed out by the CAG to the Union government for an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Leaked Paper Allegedly Reached The Centre Two Hours In Advance

New Delhi: After the arrest of two teachers of a Bawana school and a tutor of a coaching centre in the same area on last Sunday for allegedly leaking the CBSE Class XII Economics exam questions, Delhi Police interrogated the principal of the school on Monday. The principal told the police that the video recording device connecting all 15 CCTV cameras in the school wasn't working.

It was revealed that the leaked question paper had reached the exam centre (the Bawana school) two hours before the March 26 test which is a gross violation of protocol. CBSE official K S Rana, suspended on Sunday for laxity in supervision at the centre, would be quizzed on Tuesday.

Mumbai Court Allows ED To Take PNB Officials Into Custody

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has been allowed by a Mumbai court on Tuesday to take the custody of a former Punjab National Bank (PNB) official. They were arrested by the CBI in connection with an alleged bank fraud, involving diamantaireNiravModi.

 “The court has allowed our application. Now, we will arrest former deputy general manager of PNB GokulnathShetty, a key accused,” special ED prosecutor HitenVenegaonkar said. Shetty was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is probing the over Rs 13,500-crore fraud at PNB, in February, and subsequently, remanded to judicial custody.

The ED is probing the money laundering aspect of the fraud, which involves fraudulent issuance of letters of undertaking (LoUs) to firms owned by Modi and his uncle MehulChoksi by some PNB officials.

Kejriwal, Colleagues Forward Eager Apology, Jaitely Readily Accepts

New Delhi: As insisted by Union finance minister ArunJaitely, Delhi chief minister and AamAadmi Party (AAP) chief ArvindKejriwal along with his four colleagues apologisedto him on Monday for accusing him of corruption during his tenure as the head of Delhi and District Cricket Association. A joint application was moved in the Delhi High Court and city court by the parties to settle the over two-year-old litigation.

Kejriwal, along with senior AAP leaders Sanjay Singh, Ashutosh, RaghavChadha and Deepak Bajpai, all named in the criminal and civil defamation case slapped by Jaitley, apologised to the finance minister.
